Agreed avengers and tdk scenes are hard to top.

Okay The Avengers final fight scene is something I can agree with, but TDK? Car chase scenes can't stand in place of 1 on 1 (or any type of physical) fights. Every man on man fight scene in a Batman film has been average since 1989. The on screen character still doesn't "fight" like Batman. Plus, Nolan throws the camera all over the place so you can't really tell wtf is going on. Imagine all of Spider-Mans fight scenes with camera work like that. :yuck:monkey4

That's not saying TDK is bad. It's a great movie, along with Batman Begins and the Burton movies. The chase scenes are good, but the fight scenes still aren't memorable yet.

Watched it tonight. Great movie. Garfield IS spiderman! Excellence performance. This is the spiderman movie I had been waiting for and it delivered on every level. A solid 8.5/10 for me.

We're not watching the gay porn parodies though. :dunno

I hope this thread hasn't gotten to the point were ASM is being compared to TDK and Avengers. ASM was good but it competes with TDK and Avengers on the same level an infant would compete in a boxing match with Muhammad Ali.

I did. Spidey being shot in the leg and trying to jump and swing to Oscorp tower.

Much better than watching Tobey's double chin wobble as the train tries to hault.

IN MY OPINION.

a great scene and I loved it, but it doesn't come close to spider-man getting his powers back and his battle with Doc Ock on the train. But it is reguarded as one of the greatest scenes in comic book cinema. TDK "the best medicine is slaughter" chase scene comes close but it's still not as good as the train scene.

I still loved ASM though.

Nah dude not really. Asm is probably behind tdk and avengers. The dark knight nor the avengers was THAT good. This movie deserves a lot more credit than that.

Yeah, I'm with piccolo here. I love Spider-man (my favorite superhero) and I liked ASM. But in no way is it as good as Avengers or TDK. But I also think it's not even the best Spidey film so all of us are just all over the place lol

I'll just cut and paste.

The Amazing Spider-Man - 6.8/10 - Lower than Spider-Man 7.5/10 but above Part 3 6/10. Not even close to Spider-Man 2 9/10.

Spider-Man is my favorite comic book character. I read his books from the mid 70's to the early 90's and reprints from before that period.

It was a bit boring sitting through the first hour origin again and was handled better in the first film.

I liked Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker. Andrew Garfield did alright but reminded way too much of Hayden Christensen in Attack of the Clones.

Martin Sheen as good of a actor as he is wasn't near as good as Cliff Robertson. His Uncle Ben show more caring and had a far more powerful death in the first film. While Power Ranger Goblin looked terrible Willem Dafoe was awesome. Rhys Ifans wasn't much compared to Alfred Molina and Thomas Haden Church.

One area that was a vast improvement over the first film was Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy over snaggletoothed Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson.

The FX did look good. And at least the CGI Spidey had Spidey poses.

Stan Lee scene was good but I think his Thor scene is his best. Someone should have put a cardboard cutout of Steve Ditko somewhere.

Of and the suit still looked terrible. If you can't improve on the original don't even try it. It's lasted for 50 years without stupid blue fingers, leg stripes and sneakers.

The credits scene prolly points towards Osborn though I'd like to see Mysterio.

That's how I see it, too. But hey, we are on a forum with many diverse members who have many different POVs. It's very entertaining to see the varied opinions.

I hope we can all agree that we love the Spidey character.

I also think it might be Mysterio just because of how he appeared and disappeared so quickly. Will be awesome if he is the next Villain

For me, it's on par with Avengers, TDK, and Watchmen, but not as good as Iron Man 1 or Batman Begins.

Seeing this 3 times at the cinema seems a bit excessive! Most I've done is 2. I'd be bored ____less during a third. Usually it's just one and then wait again for the Blu Ray. But each to their own.
