Besides some very bad dialogue in the beginning and Charlize Theron, I can't find any of this supposed bad acting in the film.

Don't see how it was boring or predictable either..if it was predictable, certainly not more than any other movie.

But yeah, ASM > Prometheus by a mile.

LOL. :lol....too late.

But you missed nothing Hairy. I hate this movie. And i'm discussing it, and every once in a while, throwing a snappy quip.

:D

eh i do the same thing on the RE movie threads and I get chased out if i say one little thing lol. I guess celtic has a right to complain since he saw the movie and its out already. BUT unlike the RE franchise this movie is good. Wheres Project A with the Alice gifs.
Celtic i know your alittle upset that alien and predater are having well.... a hard time with this new young hip generation but thats no reason to take it out on our friendly nieghborhood webslinger. He's just a lovable guy is all.:)

Over 200 MILL so far. Not bad for a reboot with the same story pretty much. I've said, if you're going to reboot this is how you do it.

Anyways, i'm looking forward to the TDKR vs Avengers vs ASM poll. The nerd rage should not disappoint.

____ no.

The Incredible Hulk is how you do it. Too bad money talks, and it didn't do nearly as well. I'm gonna be pissed if the first 45 minutes of the Batman reboot is Bruce training in the mountains.

As a Hulk fan, I loved it. At least it wasn't a remake of the Bana film.

As a Hulk fan, I hated it. I don't give a ____ how good of an actor Norton was, too much of that movie was him doing his best Bixby impression and as a result we got yet another "Hulk" movie with very little Hulk. It's oxymoronic that you're saying you don't want to see another Batman movie with him training in the hills but praise a Hulk reboot what was more about Bruce and Betty being BFFs than it was about the title character.

Whoever wins, we lose. I remember getting neutered and hated when Watchmen came out, and I seemed to be the only person that thought the movie sucked.

Skip that ____ and show it in a montage.

I'm a huge fan of the Bixby series which is why I enjoyed it. For the Hulk to be a compelling character, Banner needs to be likable and relatable (which is why Ruffalo worked in TA.) 2 hours of Hulk SMASH would get old quick, so you need to balance it out with the human drama. Lee tried that in the first film, but he focused too much on that, on top of making Bruce a cold prick. I thought TIH was a good balance of both.

TIH was a poor balance of both and was largely unpopular among fans. People want to see Hulk. Granted 2hrs of him smashing might be a bit overwhelming, but when you cut it to less than 30 minutes of him in a 112min movie, you're doing the same thing but with the human characters and making it underwhelming. Hulk worked in Avengers because people actually got to know and see the Hulk, not Bruce, act in his environment, along with people, for more than just a glimpse or a quick flash in the pan. In order for a Hulk movie to work they need to give the human and the monster equal time, or error more on the side of the monster. People don't go see Hulk to see Banner and Betty making googly eyes for 80% of the pic.

I had no idea it was "largely unpopular with fans." I always assumed most of them enjoyed it. Doesn't change my opinion. Could there be a better Hulk film? Absolutely. But I still have no problem with the one we have.

While I liked Incredible Edible Hulk, regardless of what everyone thinks of it, it's exactly how you should reboot something.

You show the origin in 1 minute during the opening credits, and start on with your story.

That was, the best thing about that movie.

I enjoyed this film more than The Avengers. I'm not saying it was better per se but that I enjoyed it more. Spider-Man 3 was so horrible and Spider-Man 2 is so severely overrated that I didn't really enjoy a Spider-Man film since the first and even that was lukewarm. I loved Raimi's Spider-Man in look and feel despite missing the web shooters and the quips but I hated the Peter Parker and most of the alter-ego universe.

The Marvel Studios films were great (I even like The Incredible Hulk although I'm looking forward to Ruffalo's turn after Avengers 2 more) and it felt like one good film after another that The Avengers was almost expected to be awesome and was.

The Avengers was like a great meal where every course was as good or better than the last with a bit of a hiccup with Iron Man 2.

The Amazing Spider-Man was like having a lackluster meal and then getting an awesome last course that cleansed the pallet.

I don't care if the Raimi film and the Webb film are similar, I feel that Webb told the story better, Garfield was better, even if Stone played MJ instead of Gwen I thought that chemistry and portrayal was better. The only thing I was meh about was the final look of the Lizard (thought he was a bit too big in retrospect and a bit too overpowered) but not enough to sway me from saying this is to the Spider-Man universe what they got with Nolan after Batman and Robin, not that this film is parallel to that just that it cleared the mind of the past and brought on a great feel for the character and a lot of fun.

:goodpost: Well put.

i too think The Lizard was overpowered but it worked well because it was obvious Spider-Man coudn't beat him by force, it was his brains that done him in
