I love my Apple product and have been an Apple user for 15 years. I stand by the company. That said, I can't get behind this. I am not a fan of the iPad either. Although it's a good cheap alternative from purchasing a more expensive Apple desktop or laptop. Having a MacBook Pro and an iPhone makes either one of those purchases pointless for me.

I rather have a classy more traditional watch like a Tag Heuer or on the cheaper end, a Fossil.

As some of you may know, I'm not only an Mac user, but I also run a small Mac-based business. Over the past year there's been a significant downturn in visitors to the site and therefore sales, which was one of the reasons I decided to branch out into collectibles-related products like CCFL sabers. I'd really appreciate it if anyone would take a moment to look at the site and products and perhaps tell a few friends. My software and hardware lets you use an Apple remote on any Mac and control any app - if you have an older Mac with a built-in IR receiver, you need only the software and you can customize the buttons to do whatever you'd like for any app. Link is in my signature.

So, I've been using my Apple Watch ever since it came out and, well, here are some thoughts:

I'm a very active person, I work out at least 5 times a week, and three out of those I dedicate at least 35-45 minutes to run (the other two are regular cardio on a stair master) on top of my usual weight lifting routine. Overall, I'm a very healthy individual that does not need a tracker in order to get my butt moving and exercising.

Having that said, the watch has enhanced my healthy lifestyle so that my workouts are in a way, more productive. The movement tracking, along with the Heart rate sensor are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Crazy accurate. And the fact that everything communicates with the Heath kit app (along with other calorie counter apps, etc) makes this an insane tool to wear on your wrist.

Will I still live my life as I've been if I didn't have one? Yes. You don't need an apple watch to do so, but if that somehow gives a person the motivation needed, then more power to them. But I simply can't agree with that mentality.

As a time piece:

I own what, probably 13 watches? (Casio G Shocks, Diesels, etc) and I can honestly say that I haven't used any of them all this time. They are just NOT FUN. Let me explain:

This thing can do many things your iPhone can, yes, but what if you don't have access to your iPhone at that moment? Or if simply, using your iPhone at that very moment could be considered rude? What if your work place doesn't allow you to use your Phone? Or if you are in class, and an important message comes your way? I find myself using my watch more and more now. The messaging app is incredible, the dictation is so crazy accurate (I use both Spanish and English while replying to messages, and it never ceases to amaze me how freaking accurate it is, down to a t).

I understand how some won't see it like I do, and I respect that. This thing is not for everyone as your phone should be more than enough tbh. But I simply can't stop thinking that this watch was made with active individuals in mind FIRST. It is beautiful, yes (42mm Space Grey Sports here) and I also bought an extra "classic black buckle something" band from apple that looks great when wearing something more formal, and ****, at $150 it'd better look good.

Battery life? You'll charge it daily, period.

I'd love to hear more from some of you, how does the "watch" fit your lifestyle now that you have one? Do you find yourself using your phone less that you did before?

Also, Apple Music, uh? At least we get three months for free to try it out, and it also works with Android devices! The horror! (I'm not stupid, it'd be foolish for Apple not to support it)

I'm also very excited for El Capitan's new features and enhancements. So much that for the first time I'll download the beta version as soon as it is available (Thank good for Time Machine).

Nice review Fran. Many points I agree on. My biggest issue is just having another device to charge and maintain in my life. I'm sure it is beneficial to have the health app. To me that is the biggest draw for me. The others stuff is just unnecessary for me anyway. I don't own one and obviously I would prob begin to use many of the features that I have mentioned I don't really need but if I'm going to spend that kind of money I better use it to its full potential.

Now let's see those 6s Plus previews soon Apple!

If your device supports it, update to iOS 8.4 today.

The music app is "finally" half-way decent. After 14 years, album view is FINALLY sorted by artists the way it should be. "Now Playing" always available at the bottom of the screen. Now Playing is a dynamic playlist that can be added to on the fly. Etc.

No idea what else is changed, I jumped just for the music app - and not for Beats1 nor streaming either. :)

I wonder if Apple music will replace iTunes Match in the long run. I don't mind paying $25 a year to have all my music stored in the cloud, but I'd raise a fit if they implement it with the $10 a month subscription fee.

I run my cloud from my basement, courtesy of an always-on NAS, Logitech Music Server (formerly Slim Server or Squeeze Server), VPN and unlimited upload bandwidth 24/7. ;)

Yeah, I only use that on my days off.

Well that 3D touch thing is a gig bucket of meh. Just wait till the 7 Plus comes out.

The 7Plus will also have 3D Touch. And a faster processor, faster graphics, etc... The S models always freak a lot of people out simply because the external appearance remains the same, even when the internals are completely revamped.

Thankfully Apple have always broken new records with S model phones, so here's hoping these latest releases drive their stock well.

Notable changes for the S model this year:

A9 SoC with 70% faster CPU and 90% faster GPU performance compared to last year's A8
12MP back camera and 5MP front camera (compared to 8MP and 1.2MP from last year)
Alwas-on Siri
Much faster LTE and WiFi
New stronger glass and stronger aluminum chassis
