Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

That is very good to hear, it sure seems like it. Good stuff happening in this trailer.

If i'm not mistaken, I believe he was responsible for a-lot of the funny back and forth dialogue in Toy Story 1.

Definitely. And I don't wish to sway from Avengers so I can always pm about this stuff. But it's why I get mad when people write off Buffy/Angel when they haven't seen it. It's not cheesy like people think...

I know that a lot of films have to have a certain amount of 'talking' if you will. To get us to understand the story, etc. But sometimes that can truly kill a film if there is too much talking, and not enough action. I'm hoping that there is a great balance of that in this film.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I friggin love Buffy it's 1 of my fav tv series.

Trailer looks cool, i cant wait to see this and hope HT's does us a HULK

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Gave me goosebumps I know that. Looks badass

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Okay, so other than the heroes being in the same scenes together and RDJ hurling Joss Whedon one-liners at Cap & Hulk, name one thing in this trailer we haven't already seen before.

Still anticipating the film, but sorry... the trailer left me kinda cold. After all the hype and build-up, I came away rather "meh". And I'm now too old and tired to geek-out just to geek-out, as if it's an obligation or something.

Carl, I really now think you're just an old sour puss. :lol If someone came down and gave you a billion dollars you'd find a way to moan about it and say it wasn't enough. :lol

Silly, unnecessarily personal hyperbole in that analogy, dude.

Seriously, if I'm going to be raked over the coals for not blowing my wad over this trailer, I can live with that. Even if I'm the only one. It is what it is.

I just sometimes feel like we've seen everything. Bring something new and different and come big, or stay home. That's actually supposed to be the Marvel Studios motto.

Not saying that the AVENGERS movie itself won't do that. It may very well blow us all away. But this particular trailer sure didn't. That's all.

Carl nobody is gonna rake you over the coals. Poke a bit of fun sure. Your response didn't surprise me a bit to be honest. :rotfl

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I liked the trailer but my expectations for what I was going to see were met. I imagine there is a ton of work left to do on this movie. I also don't think that trailer was made as much for us for whom we might as well just send Marvel our money now. The whole purpose of this trailer was to let the average Joe on the street become aware that it's coming out. And to let them know if you want to be up to speed and you missed Thor and Captain America, you better go and check them out on DVD or Blu-Ray at your favorite store.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Its a gigantic superhero movie. Its a cliche in itself so how can you find something new and different? I would contend that we love superhero films because of the formula.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I don't think it is fair to say this is "just another superhero movie." The fact it is even getting made is unbelievable to me. If this comes together the way it should it will be a game changer.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Great first trailer! Nice editing... they definitely got the point across. Awesome that they used music by NIN.

I'm sure the next trailer will show more character interaction...and even more things being blown up.

I agree though; you see one Marvel superhero movie and it's like they all are in the same template. That's why Nolan's Batman's took off like they did. There's some pretty good Marvel movies as well, but lately with Thor, Capt. America, Iron Man 2, Incredible Hulk, they all seem to familar and not standout enough. I guess it's good they are all in the same movie.
