Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I like this poster. Has a bit of an Avengers #4 cover vibe to me.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Just saw this on Superherohype.com. :D

As readers will recall from earlier this summer, Cleveland, Ohio was the scene of some major action set pieces during the filming of Marvel's The Avengers. Today, The U.S. Army has revealed their involvement in the production, offering the service of 25 men and women from the Army Reserve's 391st Military Police Battalion, all of whom worked as extras as a means by which to bring an added level of realism to the 2012 release.

"They rocked the streets of Cleveland with their 50-caliber machine guns and Mark-19's," reports Lt. Col. John Clearwater, deputy director for the Office of the Chief of Public Affairs, Los Angeles. "The film crew was blown away by their firepower and teamwork."

Staff Sgt. Michael T. Landis recalls that director JossWhedon was open to suggestions from the soldiers and was eager to change scenes to match real-world military tactics.

"[O]n one scene," Landis says, "[he] let us all engage the enemy as opposed to only the gunners in the trucks engaging."

Hitting theaters on May 4, 2012, Marvel's The Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, ScarlettJohansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård and Samuel L. Jackson.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I know some people were hoping for a HulkBuster armor in the Avengers...Looks like it Won't be happening.

From an interview with concept designer/comic book artist Adi Granov at www.badtaste.it
https://www.badtaste.it/articoli/excl-adi-granov-ci-parla-di-iron-man-e-avengers

There is a Mark everyone is waiting to see on the big screen, the Hulkbuster. It’s a fan favourite armour...

Adi: I know. I see things this way. In the first movie we had the Iron Monger, the idea for him came from the Hulkbuster.
I did a cover with the Hulkbuster in it. Jon Favreau liked that design and asked me to draw something similar to it for the Iron Monger. So technically the Iron Monger is the Hulkbuster, and that I think is why for a while we won’t see it in a movie. It would only be yet another Iron Man big type of armour.

Also...

...You have to think that now everyone has a cellphone and a camera in it, so the message boards are flooded with behind the scenes images. It’s out of control... so we can already see Capitan America and Thor that fight with some guys in mocap suit. Are they the Skrulls?

Adi: [laughs a lot] Well well... I really know what the villains are, but I’m not gonna confirm or say here!

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

they are actually showing the trailer on tv for this already, kinda odd for a moving so far away in May.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Cap looks scrawny in his banner image.

I think Widow has the best one, for obvious reasons. I like Loki and Thors also. The rest are pretty bleh.
