Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I don't think that Joss will really single out too many of the main characters. He knows that fans are divided on who their favorites are. So I really think he'll give them each a fair amount of screen time.

Agreed. I think, as his only other feature film to date,Serenity is the absolute best predictor of how Joss is likely to handle things, and it has approximately the same number of leading characters. EVERY character was given a decent amount of screen time, and they all had their special moments to shine. This guy is NOT going to turn out "Shellhead and Friends"...

Here is some footage of the panel at the NYCC. I find it pretty disappointing that no one bothered to leak the actual movie footage though. Seriously, what is up with that?

NYCC: The Scoop on Loki's 'Alien' Army
And how it ties into Marvel's plan for an "Avengers Saga: Phase Two."
October 17, 2011
by Eric Moro
While attending The Avengers panel at New York Comic-Con yesterday, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige took time out of his busy schedule to catch up with IGN and chat about all things comic book movie. And while that conversation ranged from Doctor Strange (click here to watch that interview) and the mystical side of the Marvel U to The Incredible Hulk and his impending small screen return, we couldn't help but ask The Avengers producer about the apparent alien threat "Big Bad" Loki takes to Earth's Mightiest Heroes. After all, we've all seen the leaked set photos of men in motion capture suits carrying what appear to be laser weapons, and even Tom Hiddleston himself alluded to E.T.s in an earlier interview with IGN.

"[Loki] does say to Tony Stark at the end of the footage we showed today, he tells Tony that he has an army," reiterated Feige somewhat cryptically. "And that army is not just stuntmen in mocap suits. It'll be extremely, extremely large and something that links not only into the movies we've made but the movies we're going to make. So it's a big play that we're not quite ready to talk about."
