Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Looks awesome. Couldn't have sound as it would disturb these kids that don't need help staying off target. Will watch with sound in a bit.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

One thing that I saw that made me extra happy was that Paramount is distributing this and not Disney. This is great news as they have brought out amazing Blu-Ray Steelbooks for Thor, and Captain America in the UK

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Alright a few notes:

-Cap's suit still looks off, not as bad in action but the shot while walking it still looks a bit goofy. I have no doubts though that the merchandise will look better than the film's version.

-Interesting that Tony's suit has back jet packs as with the first two films, the jets were in the boots with balancing mechanisms within the palms. With them in the back, the balancing wouldn't be needed which makes me wonder if the Mark VII isn't more of an overlay, his back is a little larger than the Mark VI. He seems to still be using his hands and feet excepting when landing his fists are clinched unlike IM 1/2 where he was doing a balancing act...

-I love the walking gantry, where it removes as he walks, it's good to see his tech progressing.

-Hulk looks very much like Ruffalo especially in the yelling scene but he looks a little strange, in some scenes thinner than others. When he is yelling he seems more slender than when he is leaping around and even grabbing IM. I wonder if that will be cleaned up? The color seems lighter than even TIH.

-It looks like Banner is in a hut in a what feels like South America (pure speculation), which is funny since at the end of Ang Lee's Hulk that is where he ended up, unlike TIH where he was up north.

-Two different SHIELD logos, one more modern behind Fury and one classically done with the Helicopter landing. I wonder if there'll be more to that.

-Interesting that they have Thor looking down at the hammer similar to the way he did in his own film. I wonder if Thor will be sent after Loki against his will, which might explain the fighting between Avengers in the beginning if he has no information.

-Am I right to see Black Widow kicking or fighting Hawkeye? Training? or maybe he has to bring her in like she does for Banner?

Very excited although a little disappointed that Marvel still felt the need to keep their "Alien Menace" hidden.

.
Yeah, I guess Stark improvised and decided he needed to use the palm repulsors during flight, hence the need to put thrusters on the back for better stability. I don't know.

I do like the dynamic gantry. Geez, where do they come up with these things. :clap:yess:

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I think Hulk's size in this will be variable and proportionate to his rage-level.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I've rewatched it like 9 times.

I wouldn't mind that as long as they don't get overly carried away with the size changes like the Ang Lee version of the Hulk.

Also, I am glad that they still haven't shown and given away the alien invaders. Too many trailers give every thing away and I am fine not seeing them yet.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Damn, the Hulk can jump.

I'm also loving that Mk.VII armor in battle damage form.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I can't wait. I will be in the 3D Imax on opening night

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Banner saying, "We're not a team. We're a time bomb." pretty much describes how much friction we could expect among the members.

How nice of Loki to bring them closer together. :D

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Hated that poster but the new trailer was epic.

Want. to. see. the. Helicarrier.

(not that crappy toy)

Disney will be taking over the distribution after Marvel's current commitment to Paramount ends (2 more films IIRC)
