Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Man, I am really excited about this movie but does it feel a bit like Black Widow and Hawkeye are out of place? I mean, you've got IM, Cap, Thor, and Hulk who are crazy superheroes. I can appreciate the tactical training they have but how are they gonna keep up? It just seemed funny to me when they have that camera shot circling around all of them...BW with her tiny pistol and hawkeye with his bow...what are you gonna do with those against that giant snake thing?!!?? haha, don't get me wrong...looks awesome nonetheless.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Oh just enjoy it Grumpy

:lol I liked it, I'm just not going to suddenly go "OMGZ!! I WANNA B IN DA AVENGERZ! SO A-MAH-ZING!!111"

This is a big project that so far seems to be working but it raised a few questions and observations.

Yeah, I guess Stark improvised and decided he needed to use the palm repulsors during flight, hence the need to put thrusters on the back for better stability. I don't know.

He could already use them during flight, he allowed himself to freefall a bit or used them as he was in an upward motion. What I think occurred is for some reason these things are faster than him, so the back jets would allow him to move quickly and still combat.

I do like the dynamic gantry. Geez, where do they come up with these things.

It definitely makes more sense than the having to standstill and do it.

I think Hulk's size in this will be variable and proportionate to his rage-level.

That would be interesting since that was an Ang Lee thing, a Hulk trait that wasn't exactly used or even alluded to within the Marvel Studios scope. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that won't be the case and that it's just CGI that needs to be cleaned up.

Well, in the comics, Black Widow has been enhanced almost to the point of Cap, so she's pretty much the female version of the Super Soldier. As for Hawkeye, I think he's pretty much the comic relief of the group :lol:lol:lol:lol

I agree. I get that she's another "super-soldier" or whatever but cocking a tiny little gun as Unicron descends? Umm, okay. Good luck with that. :lol

Seems like she should have some sort of laser pistol or something.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Well Hawkeye is the Marvel equivalent of Green Arrow who by those character's own admission was set up to be a Robin Hood themed version of Batman so I would imagine that Hawkeye is supposed to represent the humanistic aspect on The Avengers just like Batman does for the Justice League. Black Widow is always the wild card depending on how human they decide to make her.

On an interesting note I just got an email from my wife fangirling over this trailer. :lol

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Still absorbing it all.

Stark walking out from the gantry was perfect, what a bad ass he truly is.

Hulk catching IM is the same as from that CGI short movie from a few years ago with IM, Spidey and Hulk fighting the 2 giant robots, remember that awesome short movie.

There is absolutely nothing lacking in this trailer, even with the aliens still a secret. (not really, we already know :lol)

This is now the best Superhero movie trailer I have ever seen, better than TDK/TDKR and the TM/AG Spidey movie trailers.

One of Batman's big things are his vehicles though. I imagine if the Skrulls or whatever attacked Gotham City he'd be up in some sort of Bat-X-Wing fighter blasting them out of the sky, not shooting trick arrows Dukes of Hazzard-style.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Literally the best trailer i have ever seen the bit of thor, iron man and cap standing in the forest is soo amazing to see them all in one scene, i am soooooo beyond excited

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I can't stop watching the trailer. If it were a VHS tape, it would be worn out already! :lol

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Hulk and Iron Man are the only reason I'll rent this movie at some point.

THe trailers could not be any less underwhelming. I still really get a FF:ROTSS vibe. And Cap looks straight awful, theres no other way to say it, his mask is garbage. Without it, he looks ok.

And Hawkeye looks like he couldn't be more of a thirdwheel, hes got a bow and arrow, seriously they needed that trait, Iron Man couldnt fire a laser accurately enough? Yea I get hes part of the Avengers but he just strikes me as a really lame character that won't see much development.

Because Batman has money. That's the thing remember he represents the human aspect he isn't Batman. He is Green Arrow (which even Ollie has money...). What would and has happened in the Marvel U is that they take Tony's money and fly around in some sort of Iron X-Wing Fighter but even then Hawkeye still shoots around Dukes of Hazzard-style just in the air, which looks to be happening here.

Can't do it now, but no frett.......just look up "Iron Man's Adventures" in YT or Marvel.com.

It's a 3 part bad ass short CGI movie, surprised you've never seen it.

YT used to have all 3 parts combined into 1 movie.

You have to see it!

There were many requests for it to be made into DVD but Marvel never did. :gah:
