I almost walked out on Thor's crap-tastic post 3D conversion. Enjoyed it MUCH more on blueray at home so I will be seeing this in 2D.

IMO - Pixar was made for 3D... as are *some* live action. TF DOTM was cool as it was shot in 3D and Tron Legacy was an amazing theatrical experience in 3D.

So I don't automatically rule it out but if it's done in post I have no interest in it for the time being.

That said I believe Spider-Man was shot in 3D. If so I may give that one a go.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

hate 3d. Wish there was this in 2d Imax or Etx at Amc's. Really wanna see this in imax but dam 3d. Hate putting the glasses. Movie looks dark with em.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I'm torn... post conversion is the suck.... but seeing Scarlett in 3D may be worth it...:naughty

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

There is something explicitly nerdy and fantastic about putting on 3D glasses and sitting to watch a film. Even though the conversions aren't great. I'll definitely be IMAX 3D'ing this thing without question.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Wish 3D would die again already. I can't even sit through a whole film now without my eyes hurting and getting a headache:mad:

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I wish air travel would seize to exist because I can't sit thru a flight without getting sick.

Screw everyone else that has no trouble with air travel.

The conversion looked great when I saw the Avengers trailer before John Carter in IMAX 3D. Made me want to run right out of the theater and get in line for Avengers. The shots of Iron Man flying through the city and the shot with the pan around all of the heroes looked really fantastic in 3D.

I'm a big fan of 3D and as long as the theater gives you an option, I hope I can continue to enjoy it for many years to come while those that don't like it can go to the screen next door.

Also, maybe they can make the 2D showing have mono audio instead of surround sound. I've heard of people covering one eye so they don't have to see the 3D picture--maybe they can also cover one ear so they aren't equally bothered by 3D sound.
