Not really. The reboot for Batman is already slated for 2015.
I'm a Batman fan, so even if The Avengers blows The Dark Knight Rises out of the water, I'll still be the staunchest of allies to TDKR.
I'm really curious who takes the box office this year. Currently, everyone is shouting The Avengers from the rooftops, but one might be inclined to think that a big part of that is how close it is, and at this point, the anticipation is at its climax for most people. What we also have to remember is that The Avengers is just the beginning, a lot of people think that the other solo films set the foundation for The Avengers, but I think that The Avengers is not the pinnacle, but just another piece of the foundation for a larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Batman, however, marks the end of something. The stage has been set, and this is it. I'm willing to bet that once TDKR is only a few weeks away, people will realize that this may be the last time they see the caped crusader on the screen for what could be quite a while. I think that's when we'll see the battle heat up.
