Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Farmers does them for the Marvel films regardless of studios remember the First Class one and I'm sure there have been more.

I don't know why, but I think that's some wasted potential. You're telling me that, with all of the cars blowing up in the trailer, The Avengers couldn't have made a better "when life comes at you fast" commercial?

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Dumb nerdy question but can some one who has seen this tell me who utters the famous Avengers Assemble catch phrase. My son and I were arguing about who it would be. Ha spoiler tag of course.

Obviously it was Ron Burgundy.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Has anyone been trying to get the soda cans with the Avengers on them?

I remember trying to do that ____ in 2002 with the Spider-Man film Dr. Pepper promotion. I don't know what the ____ I was thinking. :lol

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

i bought a 12 pack of dr. pepper and every single one was iron man. They sure have it all figured out at dr. pepper. Even if you got another 12 pack of dr. pepper you could have just bought more of the same character lol

You know you can check out whats in the pack before buying them right? Punch the hole in the carry handle area, and turned the can around until you can see what is on the can :duh They won't be any different. They will all be the same can in the pack.

Did that all the time when Phantom Menace came out. Couldn't care less about the cans nowadays though. :lol

Aw ____, I went nuts for TPM crap. I remember trying to get that stupid Pepsi display case for those cans. I hate Mt. Dew but remember buying it for some of the characters alone. I think Darth Maul was one of them. :lol

Then that KFC/Taco Bell garbage. I wanted those dumb cups and that little promotional game thing with the different characters.

Looking back, I had no idea what I was thinking. I'd never do that ____ today. Waste of time and money.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I remember as a kid having my Dad go to McDonalds every week when they did the original dream team cups during the 92 Olympics. :lol

Right now I'm experiencing that ____ with Happymeal toys for the munchkins. Thankfully McDonalds sells the toys separately. :lol

Yeah, talking with the managers and seeing what toy/promotional item is what for each week.

I remember those Batman Forever glass mugs too. Those were a pain in the ***. I think you had to buy a meal or something but I got around that and just bought the glasses each consecutive week. I felt like a loser doing that ____, but whatever.

When I think of all the time, money and piece of mind that I wasted pursuing that junk, it sort of makes me mad.

I still have a couple of those Batman mugs, I should dig one out and send it to you. :duff

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I use those Batman glasses all the time! The full set makes it into the dishwasher at least every week :lol

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

honestly I just need to tell myself to not expect too much from this film.....it's a comic book film so all I want is some decent acting, some good humor, great CGI, great action, and something technology wise I've never seen before or never knew existed.....

I was on my first trip to the USA in '95 when Batman Forever came out, need less to say, my brother and I were obsessed with getting all those mugs and any other merchandise related to the film :lol

Little did I know how much i'd despise the film in adulthood :rotfl
