At last year's Comic-Con, Avi Arad was asked about the potential of Spider-man and The Avengers meeting up on the big screen and he brushed it off. He seemed to think Spider-Man had enough stories behind him that he didn't need to be a part of the team.

Now after the movie juggernaut that The Avengers has become, he's having second thoughts.

When talking to Crave Online about it Arad said, "Everything is possible. If something like that happens, it’s great for Disney, it’s great for Sony, if the right story comes in. We are now working on Venom first. It’s our first out, so our thinking is in the right direction. Avengers to me was an expected success so I never looked at it because Avengers was successful.”

"The way to make team-up movies work is to create the raw materials, both technically and creatively, in other movies first," he continued. "Team-ups can happen once you create the character, establish the CG, otherwise it’s not affordable.”

What do you think? Think Spider-Man appearing in an Avengers movie is ever gonna happen?

I'd be more interested in A Punisher appearance in Spiderman if they want to do crossovers with Spidey!

Got the Art of the Avengers book coming Tuesday :) Just waiting for a UK retailer to put the Avengers 10 disc Blu Ray set up for pre-order now

This has become my favorite film, mainly just because of the Hulk in it, took me back to my childhood days of watching The Incredible Hulk toon

I wouldn't mind buying that book. Where did you order it from?

Amazon has it. Mine actually arrived before the movie even came out.

Wait. I just noticed it says "Usually ships in 1-3 months". Wow, guess it paid to pre-order early. :google

Yeah, had mine a good 24-48 hours before the movie. I ordered the uber set today with the though my dad can have my other copies as he loves these films as well.

I bought the big set, too because I only had the first Iron Man book (in sift cover) and Cap. But Cap is my fave, so I don't mind keeping an star HC of that one all by itself. Gave the Iron Man to the gf so she can use it as reference on her sculpts.

I meant the uber set of movies. My bad. I did buy the uber set if art books when it came out as well even though I had the other books already.

Ah! Yes, that. I'll get it as well even though I have all the individual films on Blu-ray. Probably just give those to my kids.

As the guy below posted, from Amazon, i'm in the UK tho and the EU Amazon dispatched it in 3 days and they've moved up the arrival date to today, i'm waiting for it now :) hope it gets here before i start work.

Play.com also have it at the same price and dispatch it the next working day.

This article made me laugh:

Before Samuel L Jackson was hired to play Nick Fury in "Iron Man," "Iron Man 2," "Thor," "Captain America" and "The Avengers," David Hasselhoff starred in a 1998 Stan Lee-blessed television movie called "Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD."

Now, while promoting "Piranha 3DD," Hasselhoff revealed that he is the "ultimate" Nick Fury. "I didn't see 'The Avengers' yet," he said. "I love Sam Jackson, but you know... my Nick Fury was the organic Nick Fury that was written and discussed with Stan Lee before anyone got in there to change it. Nick Fury was written to be tongue-in-cheek, and he had a cigar in his mouth, he was a tough guy - he was cool."

Hasselhoff went on to say that he was a little angry when he found out that another actor was being brought on to play Fury. "Stan Lee said, 'You're the ultimate Nick Fury.' [Marvel CEO] Avi Arad said, 'Don't worry, you're going to be the Nick Fury forever,' and they lied. [Pause] But that happens to me all the time. That's when you realize life isn't fair."

Understanding that he will never get the chance to play Fury again, Hasselhoff is still hoping that there may be room for him in "The Avengers" sequel. "I had a blast playing Nick Fury," he said. "And if it ever came back and Nick Fury has a brother - ____ Fury? - I'd be there."

I would love to see it. It wouldn't be necessary really, and Spidey and the Avengers historically didn't have much to do with one another (until he *throws up in mouth a little* actually joined the team for a prolonged period of time). But Spidey is Marvel's flagship character, and is one of my all-time favorites since I was around 2 years old. Seeing Spidey, Hulk, and Cap on the screen at the same time would make me geek out a bit.

This article made me laugh:
LOL

Fact is civil war would make an awesome avengers movie... Cant have that story line without spidey
