That´s actually not right.
I´m not saying what you read is bull, or that you´re lying...but in german cinemas we saw Loki´s spear getting all through Coulson´s chest, so whoever wrote this clearly has no clue.
If it´s from Disney...uhm...yeah...
:cuckoo:

Can't remember where I first read that. There was a video with the news article too. After reading this article, I'm betting someone is in error....

The extras any good on the UK blu ray?

i picked up the sainsburys uk 2 disc exclusive blu ray ,same as the target exclisive in the usa ,wow it seems really light on special features ,this is the set with the exclusive 90 minute doc ,the docs ok , not great but with out it i would have felt even more short changed ,by the way the uk version has no yak track from joss

I don't know what you guys think, but when I watched this at the cinema in digital format it looked like a film on both occasions. As it should.

But this blu ray edition looks like a television production. The picture looks like made for tv hd video to my eyes.

This is pissing me off. I can't watch it without thinking it looks like Avengers the tv movie(but with better special effects) instead of Avengers the multi million dollar cinema movie.

Maybe that's because, I dunno, you're watching it on tv and not at the theatre? Just a hunch. :huh

I know what you guys are saying, but I have plenty of blu rays. Generally films that I watch on blu ray look as film like as they can for a video signal coming off a disc.

Tv shows shot on high definition camera have a completely different look. They have what I can only describe as a made for tv look. At least that's what I see on my television.

It just happens that to me this blu ray of the Avengers has the look I'm describing.

It looks like something produced by the BBC for there HD channel. Except for superior effects.

I had seen the blu ray rip that someone loaned me a few weeks ago. That did not have a made for tv look to it. It looked like it was a blu ray of a film, not a blu ray of a tv show.

I'm probably wasting my money, but Ive ordered the US import to see if it has a different coding that looks like what I remember seeing in the cinema.

What you're describing is "dejudder", aka smooth motion.

Do you have this feature turned onto high on the TV set you watched it on?

It's the only thing I can come up with that you are experiencing.

Dejudder makes everything look like what you are describing.

When I saw The Avengers in the theater the colors looked so vivid and bright but now when I watch it on my black and white set at home everything is so dull and grey. Stupid blu-ray transfer.

It's the first thing I thought of. I have a Panasonic which has a feature called 24p smoothing. I switched it on for five minutes almost 2 years ago then switched it back off as I hated that look it created.

Checked the settings straight away and it was still switched off.

Maybe I have a bad disc as the rip I watched on the same tv looked like a film rather than a tv show.

I can tell from some of the replies that some think I'm crazy, but jye4ever gets what I'm talking about.

If anyone here has a Panasonic tv with a feature called 24p smoothing, switch it on and watch a blu ray. It takes a decent film like picture and turns it into a ****y made for tv picture.

That is how my Avengers blu ray looks straight out of the box with no pointless processing modes switched in the tv's menu.

I know exactly what you mean. It was a real shock to the system the first time I watched my 1080p Sharp Aquos LED TV. Everything I watch on that TV looks like that. I'm going to look into what jye said.

Cheers.

Although I can't prove it to anyone, that is what it looks like to me.

Hopefully you find a similar feature that you can switch off that fixes it for you.

We's just teasin'. :)

Sainsburys have an exclusive which includes the bonus disc of 90 minutes of features that's the same as the bonus disc included in the Target exclusive

yeah even with the 90 minute exclusive doc ,it still seems pretty light on content

Walmart sent a notice saying my Avengers set has been shipped. I thought it wasn't supposed to come out until the 25th.
