People were okay with a skinny Supergirl. :dunno

Supergirl is kind of weak looking to start... but Power girl would be another story lol. A tall woman should also have a frame large enough to look imposing next to the shorter members (Renner/RDJ/Ruffalo), though she can't skimp on on mass. Hell, at 5'9 Gwen looks like a giraffe next to Downey, but she's way too slightly built. Emily is two inches shorter and not nearly buff enough to make up for it.

I might disagree with Nam on the importance of acting since after all Tony Stark isn't supposed to be 5'8 and pushing 50. Though like I said, even he had to whip himself into shape (moreso for the first one).

While I think it's more than possible for Emily to build up some muscle, I just don't see her as a superhero type, but that's something that can always be proven wrong if the actor/actress is talented and determined enough to do it.

Also, I think it's important to have a natural blonde in the mix because I'm tired of all the wig wearing nowadays.

End of pointless nerd pontification on female body types. :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

Ms. Marvel would've been far more useful in The Avengers than Widow. Danvers is a no-bull**** heavy hitter. If Weadon(?) picks the right actress to play her Marvel has another coup. Audiences will be looking at DC and asking "Wonder Who?"

It does make sense with Whedon helming since he didn't get to make the WW movie he wanted.

Widow should be split off from Avengers. Hawkeye too. Stick them in a Punisher or Daredevil film.

For A2 I'd rather see Ms. Marvel and Hank Pim.

It's not that I dislike Hawkeye, I would just like Jeremy Remer to take his blandness somewhere else.

His "blandness" in this movie wasn't his doing. Hopefully if they do use him again, they'll write a better part for him.

^^^ Perhaps about Hawkeye.

Anyhow, the Avengers has always had some turnover in it's roster. I think the films should reflect this at some point.

Not only would I rotate out BW and Hawkeye, but I think the Hulk could be used to headline a Defenders film. I'd love to see Namor and Strange, and Hulk would have a bigger role.

I'd rather them just develop Hawkeye a little more. Part of the appeal of Hawkeye was that he was the "normal" dude put into the "super" role. Hes been marginalized, but DC makes tons of Batman movies with a similar concept. I agree with Ween, he needs to be better written, I've always liked Hawkeye in the comics and since hes filled Avengers spots probably more than anyone with the exception of maybe Cap, theres no reason to pull him out of the second movie.

Here's the thing, and it's just my opinion and I'm not a comic book fan. Most of the general public aren't, but they are movie goers. They had great success with this movie, with this team. Now, do you change the team or do you stick to the original formula with some added perks? I know you, as a comic fan, have already said change the team, but how many movie goers would say that? I like this team together and would like to see them work together again as is.

Now that being said, I don't want to see some of these comic book characters that have, once again, my opinion, really way out there super powers (example Ant Man or Wasp) with the Avengers. It might work in the comics, but in an Avengers movie, I'm not so sure.

And Guardians is being worked on, and if they want to go all out comic on that, it would be fine and would probably be fun. Be the opposite in a way from Avengers.

Hopefully I made sense. I'm nursing a really bad headache at the moment. :(

I'll start by agreeing with you about the film-going public. The Avengers is defined and changing them comes with criticism.

Also it's without question Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner are A-List actors that bring an audience of their own fans to theaters, so BW and Hawk are here to stay. That's business.

I just think Marvel has other hero teams that are worth using and these characters can be used to help with their introductions.

With the amount of characters that Marvel has, the movies could be endless, that's for sure. I'm sure the new characters will be introduced like they have been so far, as cameos or small roles, then perhaps move into bigger ones in other movies. Tons of possibilities.

I believe my other options to play Wonder Woman were Gina Carano and Miesha Tate, so you're wrong. As far as "good actress" goes, that's entirely subjective and dependent on the role. For Ms. Marvel, I'd say the physicality should be considered first and acting chops second. As I've already said, if the actress can't sell the character, all the Oscars in the world won't mean ****.

nnn

those are not even real actresses grandpa, I understand you have a hate for thin women,

but at least name actual good actresses besides Biel, or, you can't and you are stuck with the "twigs" :nana:

Is it just me, or is Ms. Marvel a bit of a "meh" character for the Avengers filmverse?

Perhaps. I'm not overly excited about this choice either. But she looks hot in the comics! :naughty

Yeah but she still kind of strikes me as "Supergirl in a bathing suit." Good for pinups in comics I guess but seemingly generic as an onscreen superhero, especially since she almost assuredly won't be wearing her skimpy costume from the comics anyway.

Which will stink. I would love to see RDJ (Stark's) take on her outfit! :wink1:

I'm curious to see what they do with the Antman film first. He is one the original comic members.

I wanna see that trailer that was purportedly shown a few months back where he climbs out of an air vent while miniaturized, runs up to some goons and when he's right in front of them, grows full-size to knock them out. Or something to that effect.

That would be a sight to behold! :lol

I also hope to see him become Giant Man during the film's climax too.
