Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Working to control. Not in control. Anyway, Betty was as much a catalyst for his change and interaction as she was a calming influence for it. In TIH thinking something was happening to her was the reason he hulk'd out on the college campus. She is a wild card in terms of how he will react to her.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Except in the end it shows Banner in a yoga sitting position...then he smirks with green in his eyes and it says "days since incident, 0" or something very similar...

that would indicate that he controlled it with his focus and breathing as he was practicing earlier in the film...

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

banner is supposed to be in control of it...watch the end of the incredible hulk again

I was hoping they would inject Rodgers' blood into Banner to help him get control over The Hulk like they did in The Ultimates......

One cannot show whether or not they have control without the temptation of losing it. If he were in control it'd say 1 day since incident since he can change back and forth. The long time in between changes would indicate that he was unsure of even trying until that point. We don't know how it ended up except that from his smile he was fully ready to try.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

well his eyes were green too when he smiled...not earlier...suggesting Banner and the Hulk are now one

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

They were green earlier, when he changed. The green eyes were to indicate to the audience that it was about to occur.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

the only time they were green was when he lost control and was freaking out while transforming...in the last scene they were green while he was sitting still smiling with absolutely no loss of control...

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Of course because he was welcoming the change. He was embracing it. Of course he smiled because he was ready to try and master the beast within, it was a staple of the comic book universe for him throughout the late 80s and early to mid 90s.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

The pic of him without the shirt on is when someone does a bunch of push ups to look bigger, and the recent pic of him in the new suit seems like they made the outfit two sizes too big.

actually, the shirtless pic is probably after 6 month of steroids and heavy lifting. the costumed pic is two years later and his normal scrawny size.

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

I thought the Hulk would have made a fine villain for the Avengers like in Ultimates V1. (Then again, I'd love to see a big screen version of Steve Rodgers kicking Hank Pim's ass.)

I think it deserves it's own story showing Banner learning to transform at will and maintain control.

Maybe not its own story but it should definately be used in the Avengers.

Enough with the angst......time to embrace the power!

It's clobberin time....wait :slap

He's not that BIG, to accuse him of steroids. The guy has always been in shape, just check his past movies. He's in shape and athletic, but to accuse him of steroids is :slap. If he was on steroids he would look as big or bigger than Thor.

so you are saying Chris Hemsworth uses steroids:panic:

Re: The Avengers: The Motion Picture Discussion Thread

Hemsworth was thinner in Star Trek.

When you're thin, it's a lot easier to put on mass as opposed to being thicker to begin with. He had a personal trainer and a personal chef, so it's not out of the realm of possibilities that it's all natural.

True, true. :lecture

Wish I could afford this. :(
