Yes, but it's not like the option wasn't available to him. He turned it down. So any gain Avengers would have over TDKR as far as 3D goes, becomes negated.

And for good reason. Not really.

i.e. Nolan couldn't get out of his exclusivity contract with IMAX. :nana:

You gonna try to pay in haggis?! :dunno :lol

Nope. The bet is that Avengers beats TDKR in final box office numbers minus the 207 million it made opening weekend... Just as you specified.

The payment lies within the user. You win I never post again. I win you never post again. Wanna bet?

I think TDK is a better movie quality-wise....but The Avengers might be more entertaining...tough choice.

I fear after The Avengers, movie studios will want to cash in by only making "fun" comic book films. I am not saying all comic book films have to be serious and dark, but let the source material determine the type of film made.

No problem:

I have zero trust you'd even keep that bet. I'd likely receive another shameless, pathetic (yet strangely humorous) PM threatening throttling death by Furley karate because in some ____ed up twisted way you feel threatened. So given that, you'll understand if I pass. :wave

All kidding aside, i'm a 3D junkie, I love my 3D TV and good 3D in movies that benefit from it.

Avengers is a bright movie, great in 3D (Stark falling with mark 7 behind him, simply awesome in Imax 3D).

I respect Nolan for choosing not to use 3D and going with Imax camera, movie will be gorgeous, lame it's not Imax filmed for the whole running time though.

Maybe TDKR would've been too dark (no pun intended) for 3D.

That being said, I don't think good 3D cheapens a movie in any way :nono

I had actual trouble seeing wtf was happening in the opening scene and the shakespeare in the park scene

The only time (honestly) in the entire film that the 3D 'popped' for me was in the end credits before Thanos :lol

Those costume closeups were cool in 3D

Nam is right though, Nolan made his artistic choice, don't come crying because you're box office is low because of no 3D screens. :lol

You didn't happen to see it in a east london porno theater from the 70s did you. :lol

My Imax screen 3D was vibrant, free of ghosting and pure bad ass! :lol

I saw it in Liemax 3D in West London

The true IMAX wasn't showing it because they have not gone digital.

Only non-digital IMAX theatres will be able to screen TDKR in full resolution btw

Also, you seem to know much about East London - what secrets do you hold? :lol

Calling BS. You know the real reason is because you couldn't see anything through the big girly crocodile tears you were dripping because of the TDKR trailer and the knowledge that it's Nolan's last Batman. :lecture:lecture:lecture
