Just imagine - we would be shown Batman obsessively compiling each characters weaknesses (and strengths), this would actually introduce us to each of the JLA members pretty thoroughly (negating the need for individual films leading up to a JLA flick

"Subject: Hal Jordan
Alias: Green Lantern
Briefing: Jordan was born...blah, blah...graduated top of his class in the academy...blah, blah...found an alien ring(potential weapon of mass destruction), etc. etc."

Just start the film with some alien threat landing in Gotham Harbor, Batman defeats the threat, but barely makes it out alive. He decides that precautions need to be taken. Start out with a montage showcasing potential candidates for his "project." Also, generally speaking, with recruitment drives, there are those who make the cut, and those who don't. This "recruitment" aspect could not only allow DC to showcase members of the team, but also introduce characters for potential sequels.

The last thing WB wants is to be accused of copying Avengers. Any alien threat pulling the heroes together will deserve the accusations.

I know. Which sucks, since DC did it first (with Starro, then later with New Gods). Even Thanos is a direct ripoff of Darkseid.

If you haven't voted and are still talking in this thread cause you just can't compare the two for they are not comic adaptations or whatever dweeb reason you give. Then you're a bigger nerd than any nerd-raged kid in this thread.

GRAB YOUR NUT SACK AND VOTE!

They probably should "copy" Avengers with regard to the global threat that pulls the heroes together. Better a demigod leading aliens than a giant freaking starfish. :lol

Nah, set up Batman as the antagonist (maybe at the behest of Superman), attempting to discover the heroes' secrete identities and weaknesses and you have a believable, formidable opponent for the Justice League and an opportunity to introduce all the characters. It'd literally write itself.

Oh I know, I just thought it was cool that the Avengers movie used so much of the plot of the original comic so I googled the Justice League's first foe. A giant freaking starfish. :lol :slap :duh

Actually, when they (or was it a knockoff) appeared in Batman Beyond, it was a pretty creepy storyline. :huh

The starfish known as starro takes control of anybody. It can multiply itself. it took control of superman and nobody knew it. Superman was completely under its control and was acting funny so batman looked into it and found out superman was being controlled so starro controlled superman to fight the new justice leauge. It could be interesting. Starro ususually latches onto your face tho.

Good thing Batman's unparalled detective skills were able to tell him that there was something fishy about the pink starfish stuck to Superman's face.

Darkseid (created by Jack Kirby when at DC, then almost immediately ripped off by Mavrvel with Thanos) or even Brainiac would make a pretty good cosmic threat in a JL story. They always do.

Well, except for when Geoff Johns is writing.

it was on his chest or back i think.

what was the storyline?

Superman, a recluse by the time of Batman Beyond, was keeping one in his extraterrestrial zoo (like all his intergalactic pets) and it attacked him. Then Batman and co invade the Fortress only to discover he's been breeding them. They proceed to take over Wonder Woman and the rest, and even Batman before Bruce figures out they don't like electricity. And the story evolves from there.

:lecture:lecture:lecture It was on Superman's chest.

what is this Im hearing DC is going to reveal one of their heroes as gay?

of course...

some people were saying (and I agree) that is going to be a female, which makes sense, a female won't be as shocking

and a bunch of people were saying online that its going to be the joker, that the joker is gay,
