it is extremely ridiculous to compare ladyBusters to this movie, for one, seeing how LadyBusters put all their main jokes and showed their main action set pieces in trailers and clips (but we know very little about this batman)
LadyBusters literally gave away the ending on clips,

and second, the reasons you are hating on this batman are superficial. you guys are hating on a suit or a car or a giant forehead. hating on the kind of mask catwoman wears or hating on a set design

right here right now, i ask you to name a reason that you hate this movie plot wise, come on, tell me what you hate about the plot or something, give it here
This is a comic book movie. A visual style of media. Thus, if the visuals suck, it falls flat. For this type of movie it matters.

Just like a comic book you've never read before. Why do you pick it up off the rack/newstand? Because of the long detailed description about the story on the front cover? Or because the artwork on the cover is visually appealing to you and enticing you to pick it up to to take a look? If the artwork is lackluster, and doesn't grab your attention most people wouldn't even pick it up. Yet, it could contain the greatest story ever put to print in comic form.

A movie has trailers. The trailer is like the cover. It is meant to grab your attention and intrigue the viewer. A good trailer gets people excited. Every trailer for this movie so far has made me want to laugh at how bad I think it looks.

Imagine if the greatest comic book movie ever made was filmed with the lowest budget possible. And people were running around in really bad cosplayer costumes. And the SFX/cinematography were awful. It would totally ruin the immersion experience it was meant to create.

Just like a comic book needs good writing and art, a comic book movie needs good storytelling, must be visually appealing, and have good acting. Any one of those is off, and it fails.

To me, everything is off for this movie. Visually, there is not one thing I like about it. No matter how good the story may be, visually to me it is off putting.

if you reject a good movie just because it looks off and ugly then I understand that as your personal choice. I understand. if you need good visuals then yeah I get it.

but, the V for Vendetta Graphic Novel does not have particularly great art, the colors are pretty bad, but it is such an incredible and powerful comic. it is truly incredible story telling. the art isn't that great to be honest. but is a very incredible story.
same can be said for GHOST WORLD or MAUS. the art in GHOST WORLD is rather ugly. but it has a really moving story. it is really nice too. one of my favorites.

you explained your view perfectly, but if I went by that, I would have never read v for Vendetta or ghost world. I would have missed out Bigly. there are dozens of examples, Sin City and Judge Dredd don't have the greatest art either but they are awesome. THE MASK, the CROW, THE MAXX, there's literally dozens of examples of weird freaky looking comics that have great stories.

I'm just saying, if I need great beautiful art to go along with the stories, I would have missed out on so much great comics. and I am only answering to your example.

I know this is a movie. I know the trailer shows a lot of the style of the movie. it shows the tone. I get it.
but I will wait to see how the plot and the story turn out

(Frank Miller's dark knight returns doesn't even have the best art either...)

Looks like a **** fetish poster. Riddler as the submissive, Penguin as the pervy old rich man saying "come to daddy!", Batman as the cosplay freak, and Catwoman as the dominatrix. Bruce Wayne is the "newbie" entering the world of fetish ****.

Except "the bat look" you are invoking even in your image sill has the thick neck. That^ is not an apt parallel. since that would not correspond to his (collar)neck (see below), but his shoulders and where the "hand" splays out on the classic Batman silhouettes.
The thick neck is still there underneath on a bat...

What the thick neck Batman cowl references, is the heavy weight of that neck straight down into the torso, which gives him the aggressive beastly look of the bat.

The tapering in neck of DK Bale, now on Pattinson (while it gives more mobility) completely betrays the thick neck "the Bat look" Batman has always had,
And instead makes him more feline.
That's something I've said myself. The cowl and neck of this suit remind me too much of Catwoman. I know the thick neck suits tend to mean limited head movement but visually they are better and more Batman.

:lol Guys arguing about the logic/usefulness of the neck... but are fine with a cape.
I find it hilarious how anyone can laugh at the suit. Like bales suit was any better. Looks like he was wearing a puzzle on his suit. Ugly. Affleck looked fine in bvs but his suit was meh to. Bulky Batman with short ears. Hate the look and hate the comic it was inspired by. Very overrated.

Affleck was FAT. thicc boy. Fatman. the Thicc knight. thunder thighs .

What Batman symbolizes has always been what people truly cling to. But you have to admit, despite some pretty pictures in comic books, the outfit is ridiculously dated. And making it techy just makes it worse. It's the whole idea of dressing up like a Bat that's dated. It just is. Sorry. The darkness, the shadowy vigilante, someone to be feared, all that's great -- but its time to let go the literal Bat costume. At least in the literal live action movies. Use the Bat symbol as just that -- a symbol -- lose the cape, the ears, the neck if you like, and reinvent the character's look based on current reality -- like what Nolan did with the Joker (certainly not his Bat man).

I can hear many a fanboy screaming right now, clinging to their pillow, cursing my name...

…. Yea lemme get my bat.

I get you

but what would he wear? like a black spiderman? just a black suit and a hood?
then he would look just as genetic as Hawkeye and black widow and ant man and wasp etc
I get what you are saying, I totally do. but batman in a black tactical suit just becomes genetic marvel. that's the worst. batman might be outdated and the costume might be silly
but having him look like a SWAT guy would be horrible lol.
I'm saying, what exactly. would you have him wear

I agree, that's why I said making him techy makes it worse.

I have no idea what he could wear, I'm not a costume designer. But I'm sure there's a way.

No one saw the Joker like Ledger until Nolan did it. So there's a way.

I said the Bat "symbol" could stay -- maybe he wears a mask and his "ears" are simply wifi antennae. I don't know, but if you keep the Bat imagery, then you need to have it have a purpose. The cape absolutely has to go. Non-functioning crap that's in the way most of the time. But I know, the cape and the ears ARE the Bat Man. It's also what most people outgrow after a certain age. Most people.

I did a quick search for realistic batman
some people (cosplayers, artists) have tried to give it a realistic look.
I guess the cape and cowl are too iconic and too attached to batman. but look. these people tried to do what you mentioned

:lol

You're not sending your best.

I know these are bad lol. but it's kind of the idea of a more realistic batman. tactical batman. these are low budget fan suits and drawings.
but batman would still need to have a SWAT like tactical suit. he would need the belt. he would need to hide his identity. he would need body armor.

I'll try to see if anyone else have done more lol

No, he could be more Ninja. With slimmer, simpler armor -- more like Bale's look when training with Ra's. It's the full body armor that looks terrible. Clunky and mechanical.

To me, Batman is more Ninja then armored Knight. People took The Dark Knight too literal.
