If it's too good to be true...

This is from the ABC Express desc and I have read somewhere else about the HT cape action but I really don't know what if anything was done. if you knew Howard Chang (?), the head guy at HT Toys, he is fairly nuts when it comes to stuff like this, have you seen their design for the Robocop leg holster? It is genius according to the guys at sideshow, they've seen it.
ABC Express desc:
the Batman has more accessories than the Medicom one, and its cape is bigger which can be made as same action as movie. The details of belt and the accessories finishing and the amour fitting, all of them are better than the Mediocm!!

EVILFACE said:Yup still feel the same way. Cut joint in the neck still bugs me and he looks like a slim guy in a rubber suit. The HT doesn't. Better belt and acurate mask. Neither cape is flocked, but that isn't a big deal. Both are great figures, just the HT is the better one.
Sith Lord 0498 said:This is probably a dumb question but oh well...does the "cut joint" mean it can only move left and right rather than in all directions? If that's the case, does the Hot Toys version have full mobility in the head?
Personally, I want a Batman that is as poseable as a Sideshow figure, and it doesn't seem like the Takara version will deliver.
EVILFACE said:It looks like the Takara neck has a ball end on it, so the head should rotate around it.
EVILFACE said:What is hard to figure out?
He has a ugly neck cut joint. They should have the cut at the base of the neck or where the neck meets the bottom of the skull, not in the damn center.
screamingmetal said:I'm used to exposed joints so that's not an issue for me. I used to be siding more on the Takara side but now I'm leaning more towards the Hot Toys version. Takara's best features are the head sculpts and additional accessories like the repelling harness. But Hot Toys has the best overall presentation for me. I only have enough to buy one, so which is better is an important issue. I just need to know what the range of articulation is on the Hot Toys version, if it's much less then I might get the Takara version.
One things for sure, this is terrible timing having both Takara and Hot Toys Batmen coming out along with Superman and Catwoman and all the other stuff from Sideshow.
Even worse, the Marvel Icon 12" figures are starting to show up in stores now, and apparently the masked versions of Captain America and Wolverine are short packed.
Thanks for the link Anti-Hero! They both look pretty good. The Takara version looks to have a better flow to the rubber costume when it's compressed into poses, but overall I like the detail on the HT version. I'll hopefully place an order for the Hot Toys version this week.anti-hero said:Ask and you shall receive...

Looks to me like they can each do about the same stuff. Whew! That's a load off considering I've already paid for my HT one! :chew
Actually, mine would be about $139.267 USD if I keep my order. That's only $20 more then the Hot Toys version. Of course those prices don't include shipping which would be less from Canada then from Japan.Darklord Dave said:The Takara is about $50 more just at MSRP. Although that price means very little now that the HT figures are climbing the ebay charts.
