Imagine if 3D was the reason 4K failed, how ironic lol.

Nah that's not going to happen and more than likely we will see more 3D tv options next year.

While I would like to see 3D go the 4K route we're also not suffering if it remains at 1080p.

One of the ways i'm really enjoying 3D is revisiting a catalog title that we only experienced in 2D now being given new life in 3D, like Top Gun or Predator.

It's like watching the movie for the 1st time again.

Lots of fun.

Do you guys think the advent of true 4k and HDR lend itself to a more 3D image withouth 3D ? Or is this a complete misconeption?

I ask as I do not have 4K myself and cannot pass any judgement.

Great question. 4K definately not, not even close to a 3D effect. Great picture but not 3D like.

The word is that 8K gives off such an incredibly immersive picture that it comes off looking like natural 3D, if that makes any sense.

I would guess that with 10K and above you would start seeing some unbelievable seperation of elements due to the incredible sharpness on display.

Only super elites of the world have access to this tech so enjoy your 3D glasses lol.

After watching TFA in 3D I am now fully convinced that 3D is a good thing for cinema.

Finally.... after all the recommendations I've asked you about in my obsession over new-age 3D...

That's the real fun for me. Predator and Jurassic Park were outstanding ways to re-watch something I knew by heart in a new, exciting way. I wish they'd do Terminator and Alien and Jaws and...

The initial response of watching 4K in 3D among test subjects is.....

Agreed. THat is all I am waiting on now.

Was going to get the Epson, but I figured at this point I would wait a few months just to see ...

lolololololol

I find the experience to be so rewarding, it actually has the power to turn a just ok movie into an entertaining fun movie, it brings certain movies to life.

Not every movie requires it though and sometimes if a movie is long it can be slightly irritating to the eyes but once I enjoy a movie in 3D it's hard to go back to the 2D version.

Real shame with how 3D was neglected for 4K even though 3D content is still being heavily created.

Watched TFA in 3D last night and it was fantastic. Some of the best 3D I've seen up to now. A good display is a must for 3D.

Yeah, it's a real shame they arent embracing it after shoving it down people's throats. There is a lot of 3D content out there, content that sells. To me, the only really attractive thing about 4K is HDR, the extra resolution isn't that noticeable to me until you get past 60" TV's. I can see it, but it doesn't feel like that big a step up. 3D on the other hand, gives a unique experience. I think those that enjoy 3D, may be hesitant to adopt 4K since most UHDTVs don't support 3D

To me the HDR is more important and makes more of an impact, even with a 112" screen. I have a FauxK projector with HDR and it's good enough for me.

Is the 3D on Predator any good ? Heard mixed reviews so I never bothered getting it.

Yeah I agree, HDR > Resolution

But thankfully we can have both. :yess:

Predator 3D is just good enough to provide a fun viewing experience, it really was like watching the movie for the first time again.

Must Own in my household.

3d, 4k, 8k = meh. Call me when they have holodeck technology ready

Hey i'm right there with you for when it does happen.

VR is trying to give some advance visual thrills but it also comes with some major negatives, like:

Wires wires wires everywhere.
Hand controllers too much lag.
No 360 immersion, cuts off at the peripherals.
Not great for movie watching.
Resolution not high enough.
Motion sickness.
Wearing a head piece.

So for now i'll just be content with 4K/HD :lol

Hope everyone is taking advantage of the black friday deals.

Some major savings are there to be had.

I mean Band of freaking Brothers 6 disc bluray for $10.00!

Yeah, I'm really kicking myself, so many movies I bought this year are dirt cheap now! Picked up a few for my Daughter though. Obscene discounts on video games too. Tried to pick up a hover board for my daughter, but they were cleaned out in minutes.

2D only Bluray Predator is $7.00.
3D/2D Bluray with 2D Standard DVD included is $25.00.

Choise wisely.

Wait, you're in Uruguay :slap

Disregard lol

You're a little late to the game brother!

I've been playing VR for years everywhere I go!
