I know this has nothing to do with this thread, but saw some conversation about it on here some days ago...
So I went in to BB look at some movies and noticed the Oculus Rift demo going on, so I tried it. HOLY ****!!!! That was AMAZING! Your brain/body is really convinced that this is real as your equilibrium is thrown off when you notice the floor around you collapsing in on itself, it's hard fighting the instinct that your going to fall. It was just spectacular looking around in all directions and truly feeling you were inside this world. There are 2 down points, the cables and the cost. the rep had to straighten me out once as the cable must have gotten wrapped around me, though I didn't notice it. At $1,000, it's just too much of a wallop to the wallet, at least for now.
I also tried the Playstation VR, and while I was less impressed with it, I couldn't help but feel the software was more at fault than the hardware. The PSVR has a much nicer price though, a much more reasonable $400.
