I really thought they'd do more with 3D and convert more old movies. Oh well...


As to prices, they will likely spike -- from people like me -- then drop off drastically when the 3Ders -- all 12 of them -- finishing buying.

What else is good? What pops? I just can't get Supes Returns or the Owl thing.

Laserdiscs were around for a long time, finally going away because something better came out, DVD. Thing is, I'm willing to bet the adoption rate of 3D Blu far surpasses the peak of Laserdisc. I know I used Laserdiscs for at least 7 years. But 3D Blu has to be far cheaper to produce, given they utilize the same discs as regular Blu movies, and are packaged with Blu-rays. Seems like there is far less cost associated with keeping it going.

Get this, not only did they kill it off but they're telling (probably buying) the media folks to not run stories on the death of 3D and to instead focus on the 4K/HDR/OLED side of the tech.

They don't want the bad publicity because there ARE STILL 3D BLURAYS BEING SOLD!

You know, like THE FORCE AWAKENS, only the biggest movie of 2015, the highest grossing domestic movie, the 2nd highest grossing world wide movie and the one that got a special 3D release just a few months ago, you know that movie!
