The gap between the belt and chest armor is about the same. But the second belt area is missing on the new look so coupled with the missing space-cup, it makes his torso look longer and the chest armor looks too small. I almost would have said the chest to groin armor was one piece before covered up slightly by the belts. So yeah in a lot of ways the missing cod piece is messing things up and making him appear fat when he’s just solidly built.

No cod piece makes for easier access for Fennic to do her duties. Seriously though for me the black and overall clean look is making it a little jarring overall. He is almost pristine like Jango. I prefer the lived in look of his Empire outfit but the new look is decent. Will have to get used to it on screen.

Yeah lets see how it looks in motion first before making any final decisions hopefully i’ll like it as much as his baggy pants from Mando.

Ultimately just feels like a different character we are mostly agreeing to call Fett (or rather replacing (especially the more the costume changes and he goes and is identified without a helmet) for better or worse he's already had more "screen" presence than the Fett we once imagined we knew from 6 min.

Yikes, that pic really says it all. This isn't Boba Fett at all. This is an aging out of shape Temura Morrison trying to play Boba Fett. I really would have preferred the sleek OT Fett who kept his helmet on.

Very true. Personally I wouldn't be able to enjoy this new show at all if I required him match seamlessly with OT Fett because he just won't, period. But as an extension of the PT Jango character that George went out of his way to turn Boba into he still seems like he could be a whole lot of fun to watch.

Even though SW is one continuous continuity I've just resigned to enjoying Fett as more of a James Bond type character. ESB was Connery Fett. ROTJ was Moore. Now we get to have fun with a darker Dalton or Craig version. :) None of them really sync up with each other but as long as they're still cool in their own ways I can enjoy them.

I really hate it when we agree.

Go look at the newest trailer of Cobra Kai. The guy that plays John Kreese is 75. The rest of the main adults are all 60. And they all look great!

Well said. I'm fine with Temura as Boba Fett. I would've preferred he go back to being helmeted and mysterious once he got his armor back but I can look past that...

Yep, and it's not like this new Fett exists in a vacuum where the last time we saw him was ESB.

No, let's all remember that THIS is what became of the character on George's watch:

So hell yes I'll take this helmetless badass over any of the abominations above.

No he won't match ESB but for God's sake at least restore his dignity and make him cool again, lol.

You don't need Morrison to do that though. But I'm fine if they want to use his face in the brief moments it makes sense to take the helmet off. But why have an out of shape guy play Fett when it's not necessary?

I imagine it's because TM is still alive and the George approved "canon" version of Boba and Favreau and Rodriguez wanted to honor that version. George stopped caring about the mystique of ESB Boba way back in 1983 and doubled down in 2002 and so this is where we are now. It is what it is. Our choices are to accept and enjoy it for what it's worth or compartmentalize it out of our head canon. Either option works but as of now I'm enjoying the ride and willing to give this a shot.

I'm willing to give the show a shot and enjoy it for what it is as you say. But I think it needs to be acknowledged that comparing the look of present day Morrison Fett to Fett in ESB borders on disgrace. It's like putting Elvis on stage a couple days before he died.

Didn't Morrison Fett have that hit song "Baby Please Don't Go"? :)

...
If Jabba's Boba's Palace needs a new musical number, Morrison and Rodriguez should get made up, or be mo-caped as Aliens, and be the new Palace band as
