Way to do it gb, arnie looks good.
@mando love that freddy. how did you do the sweater?
Did you dye then paint the stripes on?
Might try make a part 1 sweater that way.

Bleach it first so it turned orange, and then dyed it red. Then I took in the sides and sleeves. The stripes were painted on, and then everything got weathered. The original NOES is my preferance as well, but something about the stripes on the arms seems more iconic now.

Mando, would you like to sell that Freddy? lol!

Hadn't really thought about it. I could probably duplicate it pretty easily.

GB linked me up so i could post a few of my under $100 figs.

Swamp Thing

DCD Dr manhatten body i got for about £15
HT's pred hands £5
Milliput, hot glue and reindeer moss £2 maybe?

Damn that Swamp Thing kicks major ***. I've been planning on makinig a figure just like that for a while. My favorite comic character.

Bringing the heat CBoB!!! Swamp thing is brilliant... and I'm already planning my own :lol And love the Guyvers; not a series I ever followed but the look is classic.

But where do you find body suits that cheap? Lowest I can find are ones on eBay from minibarbie for around $12.

Cheers man gimme a shout if u want any hints or tips.

This is a basic run down of how i done mine anyway:

I resculpted a head i had after lopping off the the ears, half of the nose and as much of the neck as possible.

The body is a DCD DR Manhatten i had laying about and the hands are from a HT's pred.

I lopped the feet off used paperclips cut into metal rods and inserted them into the stump then formed milliputt around it so i had a hard base. Then i used my hot glue gun and layered on hot glue bit by bit to form the tree stump feet.

I then hot glued on the sculpted head and sculpted the neck area so it all merged.

I spent several hours sculpting extra muscle, lumps bumps, roots etc onto the body and then started adding Reindeer Moss here and there using hot glue again to secure it.

After that it got several coats of different greens and brown paint.

I then went back and added more moss and then another coat of paint before the more detailed painting.

I still need to do a bit more painting on him but he's pretty much finished. I also want to do a custom base so it looks like he's forming out of the ground.

Well I'll allow it since you're still a fair bit under budget :lol Man, I wish I'd seen these earlier. I just spent $25 on Triad wetsuit thinking that was the best alternative.

Just out of curiosity how well do the pockets come off? I'm thinking to doing a Swamp Thing from the first movie and a thicker wetsuit would work well I think if I can tint it green and cover it with some foilage... but if there are big pocket holes that might not work.

Cheers guys :)

Tbh a suit might be a mare and take forever sewing it all. Hot glue could work but would be hard to remove if u make a mistake.

Never thought about using hot glue lines to make roots... that's brilliant :lol My mind is now swirling with ideas :rock

Yeah use a cold water filled glass jar (like i done on my under $100 ghost rider to make the flames) to form the roots and cover the fully sculpted head/neck with thin hot glue and sand or something grainy on top.

I will have to post figures when I get home ..... I bought some Battle Shell Ninja Turtles for $18-21 each, and have customized them to look like the Turtles of the 80's-90's. Painting a 12 inch figure can take some time , I thought it be a quick job but I am going on 5 hours of paint and am not even close to finished! But it is alot of fun

Great thread ! Now to see what I may have to fit into this category and maybe get some ideas for new ones :)

Cheers mando will have to try that.Sewing isn’t my strong suit but end results worth it. Stripes on the arms are more iconic and yours looks great.

Cbob that swamp thing is glorius:)
Not a comic fan or fan of the character but as I said on elvis’ thread I want to make one now:)
Got the moss and lots of new glue gun sticks and a spare body so why not?
Looks like good fun and cheap so bonus:)
What was the original head sculpt?
