No. They charge you the NRD within 24-48 hrs but the first payment comes out as per the schedule. In this case it's Feb 10.

Re: The Dark Knight: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible (relaunch)

I am really shocked at the price, considering the relative priciness of the Gantry and Iron Monger, and of HT figures in general. Surprising in a good way. Hopefully the 1989 Batmobile will be equally cheap.

Gah you crazies have me re-thinking my initial pass...maybe I can put this in my garage like my real car, lol.

As much as I want the 89 Batmobile to be this cheap, I just don't know. As others have stated, the tumbler utilizes molds and such from an already developed product, whereas the Batmobile is from scratch, plus, you also have to take into account the R&D. Where the tumbler was essentially lights, wheels, and a cockpit, the 89 Batmobile utilizes all 3 of those, as well as pop up machine guns, the turntable, and the side flamethrowers, fins, etc. I do think that this is a good rough estimate, though, when you factor all of those things in, I think the 89 Batmobile will be in the $5-600 Range.

Looking forward to this box, or one like it soon in my HT collection

Re: The Dark Knight: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible (relaunch)

Had a chance to pick up the original when it was still new but decided to get BR Joker and Dent instead so very happy with this! Bit the bullet the moment I could.

Was going to buy one of these during christmas, so glad I passed. Pre-ordered on flex. This is going to be a sweet year.

I was wandering if there is bad issue with the wing?

I paid $380 shipped for all that R&D four years ago. You sound like you WANT to overpay on the '89.:slap

Re: The Dark Knight: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible (relaunch)

Woohoo!! Its open for order over here in Singapore. Approx. USD$440

Re: The Dark Knight: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible (relaunch)

My choices at the moment are import fees or ridiculously high shipping costs from Canadapost if I order with Toys2. Any fellow Irelanders got a recommendation for another option when the time comes?

You could probably buy another figure with Toys2 insane postage. I wouldn't be surprised forbiddenplanet.com will be taking preorders any day now. As thats where I got mine back in 2009.

I thought you already owned this....

How do you get that from what I'm saying? Hell, if we can get it for $380 shipped I'll be a happy camper, all I was saying is that there's more to the 89 Batmobile than there is to the Tumbler, and I think the price might reflect that.

Re: The Dark Knight: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible (relaunch)

Actually, there are pound for pound as many or more separate molds cast for the Tumbler as there are for the '89 b-mobile.

I suspect HTs added all the accessories to the '89 BM to add value. Overall, it's a much simpler design. The Tumbler's cockpit hatch alone has atleast 4-5 separate parts plus 2 hinges.

No way. Take a look at these two. The Tumbler's drastically more complex than the tube on wheels that is the Batmobile. Burton's Batmobile is one piece on wheels with a couple guns.
