Yay!!!!! As if the Almighty sent a big "F U" to me my PS3 decided to pick today to stop reading discs!!! Thank you Sony for yet another fine product! I only had to go through 3 PS2's and now I'll probably be on my second PS3. Awesome! The only thing I could do was look at the sky and say "Good one!":banghead:mad::banghead:mad::banghead:mad:

It's probably something YOURE doing wrong.

I have 2 PS2s, and 2 PS3s and all four still work to this day with no problems

Uh no. They just stop working or reading discs. Trust me, I ran video game store for 5 years and the PS2's were always breaking. PS3 are actually pretty solid but as luck would have it I got the lemon. That's why I always spend the extra and get warranties. Only paid for 1 PS2 and the PS3 is within it's year warranty so I don't have to activate the one I purchased.

By the way, can anyone please tell me what material are the cowl and Joker's mask made of? I am referring to the ones included in the Best Buy set. They look like vinyl, please correct me if I am wrong.

I was also disappointed with the Target's mask packaging. It didn't look as good as the Iron Man one did.

This movie is going to make a killing on DVD sales. I went a few places and the Blu-ray was completely sold out. Fortunately, I went to a scarcely frequented K-Mart and grabbed the last one. :D

Why couldnt they keep the IMAX version for IMAX and leave the bluray alone with a constant aspect ratio?

That would require cutting off the IMAX scenes or making the non-IMAX scenes essentially square :lol

They did it for standard DVD though. I don't have anything HD yet, but I'm actually fine having standard DVD and eventually getting the TDK BR disc, unless they release a BR copy like the standard DVD. It's cool that they keep the IMAX shots in their full glory, but the rest of the film should have been cut like a fullscreen movie to fall in line with the ration of the IMAX shots or something. With DVD and BR, at least I can watch either consistent ratio or high end picture, whichever I feel like.

Are the extras on the BR anything more than the DVD. I have to say overall, they were pretty weak on the DVD.

They were ok on the Blu ray, the extras that is... I still would have liked a Joker documentary or something about Heath. The extras were mainly about stunts, music, gadgets, and the psychology of batman. But not a one was about the villains or the way the story was hammered out. I wish it would have had something like that.

But the film looked great... I very much enjoyed watching it again at home. :rock

I don't understand why people are getting bent out of shape because of the IMAX portions of the blu-ray. They look stunning and the transition is hardly noticeable.

That's an understatement.

Damn WB wanting to sell this again -- with extended scenes -- come next summer.

Yeah, I had a feeling that was what was happening. I mean.. NO Joker doc? He was the most popular character of the year! And Heath DIED... you'd think it was a given.

I own the Goon Mask version and I guess it's made out of a resin-like material. I don't want to call it ceramic. It's very hefty for as small as it is. I honestly was going to pass on the cowl/masks box set all together when I saw it in person. But the scene in the beginning of the movie with the Joker's back to the camera as he looks out at the city (with mask in hand) is what swayed me to get it. (A very iconic moment in my opinion.) Every time I see the goon mask I think of it. I've got some really neat Dark Knight movie memorabilia in my office and thought it would be a nice accent.

If you're going to get one, go for this version of the box set. I mentioned earlier this box set is different from the "cowl" version because the box has been "jokerized."

Just finished watching it with my wife, I have to say this is the BEST ever experience i've ever had watching this type of film at home. THX surround and big ass plasma = WOOOOOOAH! Great sound, equal to IMAX imo and the picture could not have been more crisp!

Fantastic 30 bucks spent!

Oh yeah and Ledger will win best actor, you heard it here folks!
