That screenrant article is dumb as ____. Not only does it not make sense in the context of the themes being contradictory, but the fact that the story arc wasn't even completed with TDK makes the article completely illogical.

:lol pretty much

TDK is the middle of the arc, TDKR is the end - what happens in TDK, particularly the ending, serves to develop the character of Bruce Wayne and directly informs the course of the conclusion.

Brits should've got Nolan to direct the opening olympic ceremony because what i'm watching is really boring. :lol

Beijing blew this away.

Void, take care of this will ya mate. :lol

If it were me, JGL as Batman would be a nobrainer. It'll piss off the casual/comic fans by Batman not being Bruce, but he'd be instantly recognizable to anybody who's seen the Nolan movies and keep the trilogy as loose continuity guaranteeing asses in seats. :lecture:lecture:lecture
I'd watch it. Rather have that than another full-on reboot. Besides, there's a bit of Batman Beyond going on there, albeit without the jetpowered boots... oh, and the fact that he's Nolan's version of Robin, I suppose, lol.

Watched TDKR for the second time yesterday and it was even better this time around... wow what an ending to a trilogy! This time I could understand Bane when he spoke given the killer audio in an IMAX theater.

I'm very impressed with this post. Nice work DarkMagic, it all really makes sense to me.

Is this timeline accepted for the most part, or are many contesting it?

Thanks Maglor. :hi5: I'm actually glad it was contested. Indiana found a really glaring error with my maths in the last two lines, that still makes me cringe everytime I see my initial post. :gah:

Bonus: Rutger Hauer stated that the Waynes had been dead for 20 years... 1983, but that just supports your set up of 2003 anyway. Though you said his birthday would be in '73, making him thirty in 2003.

So it's now revised to say:

You're right, a 1972 or 73 birthday doesn't mesh with him celebrating his 30th in 2005...d'oh! Time for another revision.

He was born in 1975.

His parents were still killed in 1983, making him 8 years-old instead of 10 or 11 as I previously suggested. (interestingly this is more in line with the comics version)

I think I'll make an infographic with the revision.

I'm going to go shopping tomorrow and will definitely buy that Art and Making of book. It sounds amazing. It will top off a good couple of days of TDKR for me, thursday I had my 2nd viewing and yesterday I bought my Rise poster, frame, and had it hung up before midday!

There's an awesome TDKR soundtrack app too! Check it out The Dark Knight Rises Z+ it's called I think

A lot of great commentary from Zimmer and Nolan on the soundtrack and plenty of extra music

Yeah I tried downloading that before but it wouldn't, I did download an unofficial trivia TDK app though and was looking at the TDKR game!

Well, saw it a total of three times in IMAX. Absolutely phenomenal.

Will be ordering the trilogy art book and TDKR soundtrack this weekend. :)

I was in Barnes and Noble on Friday, and flipped through the Art book. I was going to order from Amazon to save the $15, but just went for it since I didn't feel like waiting weeks for it to arrive.

This book is fantastic. The great pictures would have been enough to justify the book... I wasn't expecting the text to be so in-depth, which is a great bonus.
