I'm going to go shopping tomorrow and will definitely buy that Art and Making of book. It sounds amazing. It will top off a good couple of days of TDKR for me, thursday I had my 2nd viewing and yesterday I bought my Rise poster, frame, and had it hung up before midday!

Went into town yesterday and nowhere had it. I tried Waterstones, WhSmiths and the book section in HMV with no luck.

Amazon UK have it for £16.99 so do Book Depository.

I tried WHsmiths too. No luck. May have to look online then, thanks Josh.

I wish the IMAX theater here was a little closer. Can't justify driving nearly four hours, in all, to see TDKR, even if it's higher resolution, better sound and an overall better experience. -.-

Saw it for a second time last night, Imax of course, and I liked it first time around, but love it now.

1. Rises
2. BB
3. TDK

On the 11th of July WHSmiths cancelled my order for Art and Making, Tools and Tech and the History of the batmobile.

Went in store and said they couldnt secure any.

Got mine from amazon, and Tools and tech came on 13th July, Art and Making came on the 23rd July.

Silly Stuff:

There was alot of silly things, or goofs, or plot holes, as we know.
I tried to remember a few of them before I left, but damn, now I forget most.

Here are few quick ones.

When the boy steals the apple from the two thugs, watching exactly what Selina did to the two guys, I don't think it would have knocked out both completely cold lol Yet they lay there motionless, even when Bruce shows up and they have a conversation. lol

Pretty sure Gordon, should have been more banged up, bleeding, or at least lost his glasses after the crazy ride in the back of the truck and the huge crash.
I mean he is in the back of a metal truck, wedged between metal walls and a huge bomb lol

When Talia pushes the button and it fails. She tells Bruce oh well, you just bought 11 minutues. Then they show the time somewhere in there, being 11 mins something. During ALL of this, additional talking goes on between the two before she leaves, then him and Bane exchange a few words. Then a little fight. Then Selina comes in and blows him away. Then they get up, explain the plan, before you know it Batman is back in the BAT, and Selina on the Bike. And it cuts to the clock...10MIN left.......:rotfl:slap

Even the whole - we have 10 minutes to dothis, this and this and that etc etc, would have went way faster than that, before you know it, with the whole chase scenes, the whole bridge confrontation etc.
I think they just goofed with the sense of timing here.
Very noticeable on second viewing.

Any other goofs and silliness?

Not trolling. Love the movie. Just having fun.
It's nice to know, it's just a movie, just like any other. It's not an epic flawless masterpiece as some will say lol Just a damn good 8.5 out of 10 movie.

We saw TDKR last night. I'll have to see it again to have before I come to a final decision as to whether I liked it or not because I'm still recovering from a flu.

BUT - did you guys notice the similarity between what Jor-el says in the voice-over for "Man of Steel" and the speech Albert says at the end of TDKR?

They both even used the same line "And they will join you in the Sun".

This is another reason I want to see it again - to make sure I heard it right.

Who is Albert? :huh :lol

It was Gordon who gave the speech and it's from Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities.

I see a beautiful city and a brilliant people rising from this abyss. I see the lives for which I lay down my life, peaceful, useful, prosperous and happy. I see that I hold a sanctuary in their hearts, and in the hearts of their descendants, generations hence. It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known.

Yeah. That's why I need to see it again. I was struggling to stay awake because I was heavily medicated. And it was a late showing. But when the "join you in the Sun" part came up - it stuck in my head.

After catching this for the third time in IMAX... I will go out on a limb and say that it is my favorite of the three. The movie just hit every note I would have wanted it to hit... and I had too many personal connections to the movie, too many things that coincided with events in my life. It was too personal for me.

I really loved it in IMAX though... the sound alone was insane. First movie in IMAX and it didn't disappoint.

Finally saw this...nice movie...its sad seeing batman / BW all hurt and crippled.

I actually found it uncomfortable viewing seeing Batman get his ass handed to him by Bane in the first fight. So much so that I was really ready to see a resurgent Batman pull a great reversal in the second fight...but it just didn't deliver IMO.

For one thing it pulled a Phantom Menace. Start the fight (Maul VS jedi), then almost immediately cut away to some stuff you don't really give a crap about (Captain Panaka/droids&gungans). COME ONNN!!!!

And Bane pretty much owns Batman again for the most part. Yes he loses the upper hand as the fight goes on but...inexplicably so. All of a sudden Batman's punches start hurting him for no reason at all. Exactly why were Batman's punches so ineffective in their first fight?? It certainly didn't look to me like Batmans heart wasn't in it in the first battle. A punch in the face is a punch in the face and he got lots of them in there in that first fight - moreso even than in the second.

It just didn't convey clearly enough some kind of change in tactics by Batman that Bane was unprepared for which would explain why Bane was beatable all of a sudden. Compounding my dissatisfaction over that was that Batman again found himself at Bane's mercy after the talia revelation only for Catwoman to save the day. The whole Bane turning out to be a mere henchman was itself another let-down for me. Not a twist I particularly liked.

Batman pulled some tubes loose on Bane's mask with his gauntlet blades.

Bane wasn't just a mere henchman.

How many threads does it take to discuss The Dark Night Rises?

Not enough.
