Alicia - my fiancee said she remembers Alfred saying it just before the scene of him in France at the end. I'll have to see it again damnit. lol

You know what they are there for. It's not until the prison when Bruce learns about why Bane wears the mask.

Saw it for a second time last night, Imax of course, and I liked it first time around, but love it now.

1. Rises
2. BB
3. TDK

My order as well

He couldn't have done that the first time? Woulda been the first thing I'd have tried.

He didn't know the mask helps him with his pain at that point, that's something he finds out while in the pit

Also Batman is fighting desperate on the first encounter, giving all his energy away and not holding anything back - Bane even says something along those lines

Add to that Bruce is really nowhere near his old strength at that point 'peace has made you weak, victory has defeated you'

He obviously retrains in the pit over nearly 5 months before facing Bane again, with a more calculated approach

I thought about that today. Why the hell didn't batman attack banes mask? At least in the comics he had a venom boost to kick batmans ass, bane had nothing but more skill.

Unless I missed something all Batman did was punch him in the face! Theres no reason that same action in the first battle wouldn't have dislodged Bane's pain tubes just as they ended up doing in the second battle. :dunno

Batman should have accidentally discovered Banes weakness right from the off.

You need that on your wall... animated rain and all. :yess:

It would've been awesome had WB released a motion poster with the rain hitting/running off of the cowl, and Bane actually walking/disappearing into the darkness.

TDKR is starting to grow on me even more.

BB still first

But TDKR is nipping at TDK's butt.

That interrogation scene in TDK is hard to beat though.

As far as soundtrack is concerned, TDKR wins hands down.

The way I saw it:

Bats likely knew right away that the mask was crucial to Bane in some way from very start. Bats was targeting them (like you guys have stated) - but it didn't seem to have an affect. But some of the tubes were maybe loosened after the first fight. Then with the second fight - they became dislodged.

Nope, don't buy it. :nono

Then maybe Bane had two masks. A main one and a backup that wasn't as sturdy. That second fight - he happened to be weary the backup mask. The main was being dry cleaned. :lol

I read the Aintitcoolnews review by Harry yesterday. An interesting read if some of you hadn't caught it. He hated the movie. I don't agree with his opinion in general, but do agree that versions of Batman I've really cared for in other media would not "give up" like the Nolan version did after the events of the second film. Having said that, I think there are clear analogies to Wayne in The Dark Knight Returns, which is considered borderline canon by many comic readers.

He gave B&R a great review. :rotfl

So is the first Bane Vs Bats fight though. :lecture
