I thought about that today. Why the hell didn't batman attack banes mask? At least in the comics he had a venom boost to kick batmans ass, bane had nothing but more skill.

I thought about bane eating. I guess breakfast, lunch, and dinner must be the most painful parts of the day for Bane :lol.

Did not care for Bane's voice.

So, interested to see... What's everyone's favorite scene? (Besides Blake finding the cave of course.) :D

Mine would have to be the first brawl, or the scene between Dagget and Bane. "Do you feel in charge?"

Out of the entire trilogy is a tough one to choose. Probably the interrogation scene for me, followed closely by the sewer brawl.

My favorite batman moment out of the trilogy is in TDKR when he breaks Bane's henchman's helmet and the wind is blowing back his cape etc. So epic. As well as the last fight between he and bane.

watched it again for the 2nd time last night. the problems i had with it were still there, though some of the issues were a bit better this time. still love bane, that guy is totally badass! i never had a problem with his voice, in fact it made him pretty distinctive and interesting. and catwoman turned out much better than i expected.

there's a site that i regularly go to, whose reviews i almost always agree with. and the guy nailed a lot of the problems of the film. he still was pretty fair in his analysis, cos there were lots of things he liked as well. if you're interested check it out here...

I actually found it uncomfortable viewing seeing Batman get his ass handed to him by Bane in the first fight. So much so that I was really ready to see a resurgent Batman pull a great reversal in the second fight...but it just didn't deliver IMO.

For one thing it pulled a Phantom Menace. Start the fight (Maul VS jedi), then almost immediately cut away to some stuff you don't really give a crap about (Captain Panaka/droids&gungans). COME ONNN!!!!

And Bane pretty much owns Batman again for the most part. Yes he loses the upper hand as the fight goes on but...inexplicably so. All of a sudden Batman's punches start hurting him for no reason at all. Exactly why were Batman's punches so ineffective in their first fight?? It certainly didn't look to me like Batmans heart wasn't in it in the first battle. A punch in the face is a punch in the face and he got lots of them in there in that first fight - moreso even than in the second.

It just didn't convey clearly enough some kind of change in tactics by Batman that Bane was unprepared for which would explain why Bane was beatable all of a sudden. Compounding my dissatisfaction over that was that Batman again found himself at Bane's mercy after the talia revelation only for Catwoman to save the day. The whole Bane turning out to be a mere henchman was itself another let-down for me. Not a twist I particularly liked.

Another thing that was a little annoying was that there simply wasn't enough batman in the film imo. I respect Nolan's vision for closing out the trilogy and I still love the movie. However, I usually have 1 shot to introduce something like this to my wife and I definetly think she would have liked batman more if she saw the TDK or maybe BB. She came away thinking that the movie was disjointed, slow, and that batman was a weak ass compared to her all time favorite - Tony Stark / Iron Man. She kept comparing TDKR to Avengers and how that film was "SOOOO MUCH BETTER"...

Obviously, I'm a bigger DC fan myself so I'm kind of biased. Its annoying that TDKR is getting compared to Avengers. Both good films, but Avengers is so much more "simple to appreciate / enjoy" for the general public, while as I think TDKR was so much better in terms of themes / plot line / character development. Its like Avengers is just an all star show. Anyways....

Also very annoyed that Bane started out as this bad ass with brains and ended up pretty much like a lap dog / love sick slave for Talia...what the ____, all this ____ just for love? I'm probably wrong somewhere otherwise, this does look wierd to me.

Very interesting read. Thanks for the link.

The most interesting thing I've heard about this film has been in a podcast by the Indoor Kids. There it was pointed out that the story for the film was written before Ledger's death and that the Joker was to play heavily in the final act of the film and that thematically Joker was going to bring it all together. And so a lot of the shortcomings in the script are the results of having to rewrite the Joker character out of it.
