Yeah, I meant Robin as his name... not the superhero. I believe he will just be the "new" Batman too. :)

:hi5:

And JGL was so good and Blake such a cool, likable character that it's almost a shame the series won't continue with him. :(

Oh well... bring on the reboot anyway. :rock

Well then they're being silly because there is A LOT about Nolan's Batman movies (particularly on how they portray Bruce Wayne) that is not inline with the source material.

This was the perfect ending to Nolan's particularly trilogy. Anyone saying "only Bruce Wayne can be Batman" really have not been paying much attention through the 3 films. It fits.

I totally agree, it's nolan's vision/interpretation.

I thought the ending was very clear.

Bruce left his name on the autopilot thing, Lucious know he's alive.
Bruce repaired the Bat signal (presumably for Robin), to let Gordon know he was alive.
Alfred sees Bruce with Selina (she is wearing the missing necklace from Bruces' estate)

People think he is really dead and the ending was a dream of was open ended for interpretation? :lol

:goodpost::exactly: anyone who thinks he's dead are the same people that "please do not try this at home" labels on commercials are for.

As I posted earlier I'd rather the next Batman film be following this new Batman than another inevitable origin reboot...

It doesn't need to be an origin film (and it very well might NOT be), but a reboot is pretty much required so that the next Batman can fit into the greater DC Universe and eventual Justice League movies (along with, apparently, Man of Steel).

Yeah, It was my impression being in Hall H during the Supes panel that the journey to a Justice League movie starts with the Man of Steel.

Honestly, I don't see how Blake's couldn't work. Nolan's Bale Batman is done and over with having Wayne retired and banging skanky. Wouldn't Blake as Batman essentially be a reboot? The rise of the more fantastical heroes can happen canonically post Wayne's retirement and fit perfectly.

It's not an Inception ending and shouldn't be interpreted as such. I'd have been PISSED if it cut away and ended with Alfred nodding his head. This is Batman, not ____ing Incraption.

If anything, it's like The Dark Knight Returns but instead of leading an underground team of Sons of Batman, it's about trying to live a happy life. A happy life Alfred wanted him to have.

He fakes his own death to achieve this. After his "death" he fixed the Batsignal and sent it to Gordon. He enabled the auto pilot function on the Bat (which helped him escape the explosion).

Even the music implies positivity and "HE LIVED" vibes once Alfred nods his head and Bruce is eventually shown.

It's not a dream, it's not an illusion. Batman planned it from the beginning because he's a scheming bastard.

:goodpost:

As you know, I love Inception, but there was no Inception ending here. Are people really saying that? :cuckoo:

Same is true with the ending of Inception. A small part of the reason I firmly believe Cobb is awake at the end....

Batman:Origins Coming Summer 2015 :rock

Another origin story? That worked so well for Spiderman. Can't we just get a good hero-versus-villain movie that focuses on the tete-a-tete between them (much like TDK did). I'd like to see more of that. Explore batman's character through his actions and through other characters; not rehash "how he became Bats" again.

They'll never properly explain why a grown man decides a Bat costume is a good idea.

While I enjoyed the movie overall, did anyone else think Bane sounded like W.C. Fields on occasion?

Oh, I agree 100%. Bruce Wayne as Batman has to exist (with a new actor) to fit into the inevitable JLA movie... but I just don't want it to, again, start from scratch just as the Spider-Man reboot retold (albeit in its own way) the origin.

We've had Tim Burton's take on he Batman origin-- We've had Nolan's take-- We (ie the audience) should get it by now. Jump right into the action.

I was kidding, there's no need for another origins story. A five minute intro would be suffice; like what they did for The Incredible Hulk. Ideally I would still love to see more Nolan Batman and villains.

The only problem is that it would need to be set in a world that is different than the one created in the Nolan films. By reboot, I mean they need to reboot the whole thing... new Wayne, new Batman, new Gotham, new everything... so that it can work with a larger DC film universe.

Now they can do all that and still have JGL as Batman, but it would be wonky, at best. Better to just start completely fresh and separate from Nolan's trilogy altogether. And the Batman of the JL needs to be Bruce Wayne, not Blake.

So do not want JGL as Batman, much the same as I don't want Shia as Indy. Kill the entire character and franchise before you do either of those.
