I'mma play the random post game, where I respond to random thoughts in the thread! Woo!

Flashbacks....if you've ever seen a Nolan movie, you should've expected them. He does them ALL THE TIME. I think TDK had very little....but Begins was filled with flashbacks, The Prestige, Inception, MEMENTO obviously. It's one of his staples.

Another thing as well is people are picking apart this movie. You shouldn't. Nolan is a big picture guy. He does look at the small details, but for the most part, you get sucked into his films. He allows you to feel the emotion, and weight of the scene, weather it's action, or whatever.

That's why Inception works. It's not a deep film. It's a pretty simple film, it's just complex in it's workings. But the emotion that drives it, is what makes that film work. That's why Nolan is a great director. He relies on emotion. And characters. Rather then the plot, and story to guide his films. (Oh he does that too. So don't get snippy here)

Not a lot of filmmakers can do that today.

I think TDKR could have easily been 4 hours long and there would have still been areas that needed longer scenes. Here's hoping for an extended directors cut.

I think the beginning needed help. It's a bit dull and long. But... necessary. It's not too bad.

I'd rather have the opening be slow, then the ending. Everyone should look forward, not wish backward. Which is how I feel for TDK.

We're lead to believe that Bruce Wayne is alive, but there are a few things that also point to the contrary, from what I mentioned before. I think the ending could be interpreted as being open-ended in that regard.

It just surprises me that there are a few folks on this thread who are just blatantly rude, to those who don't follow along with their train of thought.
I'm still surprised to read though that people can still think the ending is ambiguous.
Its clear and precise Bruce survived.
I watched it again the 2nd time in being open minded cause the first time I saw it, I was sure he survived so I watched it with an open mind to see if maybe its because that's maybe just my interpretation.

But after watching it again. Here's the key points.
1. Lucuis Fox finds out that, all along...the auto-pilot had been fixed. 6 months ago, signed by Bruce Wayne.

2. This is a big one that I forgot, when you see Gordon come to the roof, he was looking around at first, then you see him looked surprised. Then he walks to the batsignal, shocked to see its fixed, and you see him smile from ear to ear and looking around to look to see if Batman is around.

3. When Robin was on his way to the Batcave, they pan on his bag that has a white paper with numbers on it. Those are coordinates. How did Robin know where to look for the batcave unless someone sent him those coordinates to find the batcave. Who? :wink1:

4. Then of course, eventually, Alfred sitting at that cafe. And you can see the surprise in his face. It was Bruce honoring his friend's wishes of finally seeing him being able to finally move on and leave Gotham behind. Just like what Alfred said, they dont say anything to each other, but just acknowledge each other, that Bruce finally found peace. :peace

Yeah ... I didn't see anything -- other than Nolan's reputation -- that pointed to the contrary. I really don't think its open to interpretation.

Yep. It's only because it's Nolan :lol

But the cafe scene does look a bit dream like...

Use dell.com. I got a 72" TV for about a grand, including shipping, around black Friday last year.

Thanks for the heads up. What brand?

"A major one."

I don't remember exactly. Sony or Mitsubishi, I think. It was a very recognizable brand name ... I just can't remember which one.
