Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Wally Pfister Says Anne Hathaway Looks Phenomenal As Catwoman!

The cinematographer drops some serious hints that we'll be seeing more than just Selina Kyle in the third movie and lets it slip that Hathaway looks great "in the wardrobe"! He also comments on the recent Hugo Strange rumors...
Brendon Connelly from Bleeding Cool, recently had the chance to ask cinematographer Wally Pfister a few questions about The Dark Knight Rises, and he dropped some very intriguing pieces of information. Here's a couple of the most interesting excerpts from the report.

Talking of the screentests, Kevin asked:

So, Wally you shot Anne’s screen test for Catwoman?

To which he replied in the affirmative. That’s a yes to Kevin saying "Catwoman", not "Selina Kyle". Hmmm.

Pfister added, a little later:

"She looks phenomenal in the wardrobe."

I couldn’t let that lie. Later, I came back to it and asked if this meant what it seems to mean:

"Brendon, I’d get fired and I wouldn’t even get to shoot the picture...I can’t really say, but I definitely want to be around next year..."

They also asked him about the Robin Williams as Hugo Strange rumour and the secrets that still surround The Dark Knight Rise, to which he replied:

"They could turn around and surprise me too. It’s happened before. When I turned around and saw that list of girls that we were going to be screen testing before they cast Anne… I didn’t know myself who was real and who wasn’t until about two days before the tests when Emma told me."

Still reeling from Anne being cast. Dream come true!

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Robin Williams as Strange...geez...thats as bad as the Cher as Catwoman rumor. Who comes up with this crap?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I pretty much hate Williams in everything, except playing creeps or weirdos. For a comedian, it's odd that he is only good when he's being not funny.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

^ your opinion is wrong. Williams is amazing.

Yeeeah, no Williams sucks. Relies on mannerisms rather than acts.
So I guess that still makes you right................in your own little lonely world.
:monkey3

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

There were quite a few people who were excited at the prospect of Williams as Strange citing Insomnia as reference, so Celtic is hardly alone.

Perhaps, but thats what his abrasive response warrants.:peace

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Insomnia foremost, but also One Hour Photo, Good Will Hunting, and even lesser films like The Night Listener. I think he's a very capable dramatic actor but a predictable and tired comedic one (though I really liked World's Greatest Dad)

The tricky thing about Williams as Hugo Strange is that it might require both sides of Williams as an actor, and I'm afraid that certain eccentricities of the character will be overplayed by Williams in his familiar comedic mode.

Otherwise, I'd welcome the casting choice.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Robin's film choices may not be as good as his classic comedies, but his stand up is still great.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I've never thought he was funny besides when I was a kid and he was on Mork & Mindy. I've only liked him in dramatic roles, which is kinda weird considering his background.

Your face sucks.

You really need to get over all these man-crushes you have. Adrien Brody, Ridley Scott, Michael Keaton, Robin Williams. Soooooooo gay.
