Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The way you make this work is by switching the focus away from the villain that can't be topped, to Batman himself and completing his story.

Yep, that's definitely the way to go, atleast that's how I see it.

That's what I hope "going back full circle" means. Hopefully we see the foundations and development of this Batman fully realized.

All these fans keep speculating, "OMG, Bruce is going to die just like his dad, being the savior of Gotham", "Full circle means Talia and the League of Shadows are back in Gotham!", and all this other, "Batman is Gotham's melodramatic martyr who will die to save a city".

I think they're taking "going back to Begins" and "full circle" too literally.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The first thing I thought when I read it would be full circle is "Batman Ends". :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

"going back to Begins" and "full circle"

I couldn't help but remember these quotes from Begins...

"People need dramatic examples to shake them out of apathy, and I can't do that as Bruce Wayne. As a man, I'm flesh and blood. I can be ignored, I can be destroyed. But as a symbol … as a symbol, I can be incorruptible. I can be everlasting."

"As long as it takes to show the people of Gotham that their city doesn't belong to the criminals and the corrupt."

"Why do we fall, Bruce? So we can learn to pick ourselves up."

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Begins was a better film for Micheal Caine. His most powerful moments were in the first film. Hopefully there a bit more for him in this next one.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Caine was great in BB but he was no slouch in TDK either. To me he IS Alfred and forget Bruce Wayne if he doesn't follow to the next Bat incarnation he'll be a difficult role to replace.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Here's Tom Hardy in Warrior. I believe he weighd 180 pounds in this film. He'll supposedly be twenty pounds heavier in TDKR.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah when it comes to Nolan's films, I've learned to trust his casting choices. Hardy will do a great job and make bane a more believable character.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

:lol:lol:lol

I can imagine a big brother/little brother scene where Batman simply extends his arm and puts his hand on Bane's head while Bane furiously swings at the air.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Every time I think of Tom Hardy, I think of Shinzon from Star Trek. He was a tiny guy in that.

Whoa, Bane is going to be that guy? I guess the I never put 2 and 2 together and associated the name w/ Shinzon. I thought he was fantastic in Nemesis. It's not a great movie by any stretch of the imagination, but his performance was exceptional, imo.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

My first exposure to Hardy was in Band of Brothers. He's been solid in everything I've seen him in. I couldn't give two ____s from a horses ass how big he is for Bane. He can act and that's all that I need to know.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah, the last time a roided out Bane was onscreen it didn't turn out so well...
