Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Dear god, not Robin Williams. :sick
it's not that far fetch an idea. robin williams played a bad guy in nolan's insomnia. but yeah, not liking the idea of him in any bat films either.

one subplot i'm almost sure will happen in the next film is there'll be a new cop heading a new crime unit whose main job is to bring the bat to justice. he/she is a good honest cop who doesnt believe in vigilantism, but by the end of the film the cop will see the need for batman in gotham. it's a cliched subplot, i know, but i thought batman's origin(parents shot down, pearl necklace in slo-mo, fall down into cave, see bat, yada yada yada...) was already a cliche and saw no point in bringing it up again, and yet nolan made it emotionally engaging in bb. the guy can turn cliche on its head.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

I really like the idea of the title of the 3rd film being 'The Batman'. And being further along in the future, at a point where Batman reaches his full form, and achieves redemption.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Yeah, I like "THE BATMAN" too.

Williams was going to be Riddler in the 3rd movie before Burton and Keaton dropped out.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Williams is a good actor. And Nolan has used him before to great effect in Insomnia. I'd have no problem with him being cast.

Hi , I'm Sy , the photo guy.

OneHourPhoto-3-big.jpg

Yep , he did. It's called One Hour Photo and he played a very creepy character in it. I think he could make an excellent Riddler. Just like how it was with Ledger though its hard to imagine.
Hes a very underrated actor since understandably comedy always seemed to take the spotlight for him.

He doesn't look right when people keep adding the top hat and mask on the eyes but personally I can't see Nolan using the mask anyway if he were to pick him.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Robin Williams as an actor isn't a problem, but his character would have to be more a manipulator than anything, you couldn't really have him in big action sequences without getting into a laughable area because of his age, he may be younger than Stallone, but of the two, he looks older.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Here's the trailer for anyone interested , not an amazing movie but still quite good and is a nice example of showing how Williams can act.

Stallone ? Have I missed something ?.
Or are you just using him as an example.
I hope Stallone hasn't been cast as the Riddler. :lol

I'm using Stallone as an example of older people being believable in action sequences.

Stallone's 62 and he looks old but still doing his own stunts. Even Harrison Ford, what stunts he did, looked believable, I just think Robin Williams at his age would be hard to see in any sort of action, even if they did a situation like Christopher Lee in Star Wars and added a digital head on a stuntman.

I think it's important that the main villain be believable going head to head with Batman, Neeson worked, Ledger worked.

Hm... taking that into account from the popular choices I would probably pick Hugh Laurie. I don't know if I could see the Riddler and not House though. In the end I'm sure Nolan will make the right choice if the Riddler is indeed in the movie. I can imagine him once again using somebody nobody expects.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

I'm really just curious who the villains will be, between the Prestige, Insomnia and both Batmans, I have no concerns about Nolan and casting.

Probably wouldn't happen but if there's to be a new mob boss in this one, I think it would be cool, though many would say cliche, to have him played by Al Pacino, Batman and Pacino even in a short face off like Batman and Maroni would be so cool, Al's just got such a powerful presence.

That would be cool. Wouldn't surprise me either because I'm sure I remember reading that Heat is one of Nolans favourite movies. :rotfl:D

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Very nice article bro! Thanks for sharing! :D

Your welcome!

I'm not sure I agree with the older batman years later as an idea for this movie, but it is a compelling argument, and an interesting way to work around the loss of Heath.

As to the whole Robin Williams thing: I know that he is a good actor and has had some excellent serious roles, I just have trouble seeing him in Nolan's universe.

I may be a bit distracted by his comic roles, then again maybe it's the fan art with the hat and mask--that really really turns me of!!!

And I agree that he is too old. I picture the villains being a little more young and vital in this universe...
