Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Some scene descriptions doing the rounds from the reported sighting of the 'new' villain... serious spoilers Im guessing as I only read the first couple of lines before mustering the will power to close the window :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

As far as spoilers go its pretty tame. It's the equivilent of a "Huh? That's kind of cool" reaction.

Do you have a link to those scene descriptions? I'm curious to read them. :)

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

So we have Catwoman, Bane and possibly Scarecrow, Ra's and even hushed rumors of other villains...the scary thing is that if Nolan pulls off so many rogues in one film and makes it flow correctly, then Hollywood will start to jampack their films realizing it's the man who made it work not the fact they were all in there.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I think it's safe to say, Nolan won't put anyone into the story that doesn't have a real purpose, he won't cram people just to get them in or serve fans, he carea about telling a good story and uses whatever he needs to tell it.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Right, but what I am saying is that Hollywood isn't in a place for that, they are in a place to see that if it works, the film made millions, merchandised the hell of it and try and copy it without focusing on that little key part which is the storytelling.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Of course, all they do is try to copy what works.

I'm just glad WB was able to use good judgment and give Nolan room to Prestige and Inception and come back to Batman when he was ready. I feared after the TDK success, they'd rush him for mor money, but they see they'll make more letting him make good films than rushing. I'm amazed by the 4 year gap.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I think the greatest benefit of having someone like Nolan behind these is his approach of almost ignorning that it's a comic book and all the source materials, and focusing on developing a movie. I feel like comic films go wrong when there's too much focus on the source material and pleasing fans and trying to get as much from the originals as they can, like Spider-Man 3. Nolan seems to have no problem sort of telling fans to ____ off about what they want if he feels it doesn't suit the movie. Hell, he went with Ra's Al Ghul as his main villain for the first film, ignoring all the more marquee villains, but Ra's suited the story better than anyone.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Apparently a MAJOR SPOILER is out there... One that even the more revealing of bat- news sites aren't posting. I don't want to know what it is, but I was hoping people here that did check it out would at least be talking about their reactions to it ( isn't it silly the way we want to know and don't want to know info at the same time.... In this instance, I just want to know what people think about the thing they know that I don't want to know...... I know, I know.... :panic: )

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I really don't want to be spoiled further but yeah I've heard that there is something major out there
