The whole mob is out, Joker locked up. I assume there's no more bad guys left, until Bane appears 8 years later

So there weren't anymore "Jokers" in that time frame? Gotham just went on being squeaky clean? No Dr. Strange, no Riddler, no Penguin, No Black Mask etc.? Zsasz never escaped Arkham? Scarecrow never caused trouble again?

Hell, surely the Joker wouldn't keep quiet after all the trouble he caused. He broke out of MCU easily, he couldn't escape again? This is the Joker we're talking about here. Just the very sight of Batman inspired the Joker, I find it hard to believe nutjobs wouldn't do the same because of the Joker.

I really can't believe anyone is honestly giving any of the killing Bruce Wayne rumors a snowball's chance in hell.

Yeah, I can't see it happening either but there's a whole bunch of people that want this to happen. They basically want Batman the martyr and the idea has caught on.

there could be villains but maybe the city didn't need batman to catch them?
plus batman fought killer Croc, fought Scarecrow and fought Deadshot in the animated dvd Batman: Gotham Knight Which of course has nothing to do with the movies really But they did say what happened in Batman: Gotham Knight was meant to be the time between Batman begins and The Dark Knight, also in the commentary they said that they wanted to see how some of Batman's other villains would do in the realistic world of Nolan's batman, so Killer Croc is just a guy with a disease or something, so even between Begins and DTK they made the animated DVD to show what batman was doing between the movies, who knows maybe they will make a Gotham Knight 2

my point is that, if there is an 8 year gap, I am really sure that Nolan would do something with it, I doubt he will just do one of those cheesy black cut scenes with white letters saying (8 Years later...)

I still have hope that there will be an explanation for this and it will work out

My guess is this is where Catwoman is going to enter the equation. Batman is on the run and then broken and Catwoman is filling the void.

This is nolan's bats. There's no zsasz, penguin, riddler etc as he thinks robin won't fit in his bats world. And no, no mr. Freeze

Joker is dead, that's why Nolan have to choose another villain for this third installment

That teaser makes perfect sense now. Batman disappears for years, his legend no doubt grows, Meanwhile he goes abroad on a quest to recover from his injuries sustained by Bane in the prologue and find out more about Ras. He discovers the Lazurus pit and maybe there's a flashback involving Ras & Wayne. Back in Gotham, Wayne Enterprises is in disarray with Talia behind it all having ousted Fox forcing him to retire. Plans for the tumbler tech get stolen by Catwoman, Wayne returns and visits Gordon in hospital (Gordon knows Wayne's secret identity). He makes the plea to Wayne to return and finish what they both started, then follows the Rocky montage. Wayne exposes Talia and her links with Bane, Batman returns and teams up with Catwoman, the villains quake in their boots, Gotham is saved and the Batman reclaims his position as the ppls champ. I'd also go as far to say he finally makes peace with his folks death and perhaps accepts his dual identity as Gotham's hero. THE END.

when Wayne visits Gordon in the hospital he's wearing a ski-mask. No reason for that if Gordon knows his identity.

agreed, there is no way that the Joker is dead. There will be reference to him or you will see something that was prevelant from TDK its bound to happen. I think Talia will give Bane the Tumbler specs as well not anyone else i cant see the ending being that cut and dried either.

To be honest I reckon that he will make his peace and he will give up his disguise and let it go, Nolan wont leave it in any doubt or in any situation for some mug to come along and make another. He will END it DEFINITIVELY he has said that so it will be a certainty. The twists and turns are as always the best part its what Nolan is good at !!

I think Colman Reece will come into play with this myself,a weasly little character he ll feel cheated of his"10 million a year for the rest of his life" and attempt a deal with the devil,i.e Bane,or perhaps more likely Bane will gain knowledge and kidnap his family forcing him to reveal what he knows.
