Re: The Dark Knight Rises

It still looks amazing. I'm glad they're showcasing Alfred's guilt as well, it's something the Burton/Schumaker films never did, but the comics did plenty. Even TAS at times.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Alfred sounds distraught... on the verge of tears...

I think Bane is going to hurt everyone close to Bruce, Alfred, Fox, Gordon... to varying degrees possibly

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I think it's a little bit silly in this day and age for Warner's to try and close down every link to this footage. Don't they realise it's impossible now?
Every time they close on another half dozen clones pop up. Or are they 'protesting just a little bit too much?' Nolan was quite free with all of the leaked filming footage.
It's all just hype, but lets hope the film lives up to it.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Many thanks for the link. This looks fantastic!!Is it showing with Sherlock Holmes in England does anybody know?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Ledger wasn't anywhere close to being a big enough star for his death to have a box office impact on TDK. It made money because it was a good movie.

I know quite a few people who only saw the movie in theatres cause they wanted to see his final perfomance, only because they heard it was so good. Plus a lot of people thought that the role of Joker was the one that killed him (cause of all the meds he took after playing such a twisted role) But nobody went because of the actor, more because of the performance/context of his death?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Is that what was printed on the back of your TDK Joker Underoos? :dunno

EVILFACE isn't one of the usual Kool-Aid drinking TDKids. But he is wrong about the Ledger/TDK box office thing. The tragedy of his death and the media buzz around it absolutely had a major impact.

Don't be silly, it made the movie jump from big business to epic business. Remember Brandon Lee in The Crow? Same story and he was a nobody compared to Ledger.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Catwoman "purring" seductively at Bruce Wayne at a masked ball?
Looks great but it seems like a direct lift.

Damn it, I agree with Rorywan on two things in a single page of a thread. :thud:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Anyone who doesn't think that Ledgers death had a major impact on the films gross is kidding themselves. It prolly would of did around BB numbers or less otherwise.

:lecture:lecture:lecture :exactly:

In both cases, the films got millions (if not billions) in free advertising dollars, with just about every media venue on the planet, covering the deaths of both stars and repeatedly mentioning the movies.

Though, honestly, I have to wonder if EF wasn't being sarcastic. :lol

No doubt it had an impact, but I doubt it was a major one.
