Yes, that was my point, his performance is what made his Joker become so popular, not his death. I myself was watching entertainment news daily after he died to find out what happened. It was terribly sad especially knowing he had a little daughter...I know the media covered it like crazy at the beginning. But after they revealed how he died, it turned more into about his performance as the Joker, rather than his death. The actors and Nolan talked about him as a person nad actor, never his death. I remember the interviews with them asking if he was depressed about the role, and that it lead to his death. But everyone emphatically denied that. He loved being the Joker they said. It was just a huge accident he died.
see, and you went to see it 5+ times because of the movie, not because he died, right?
If he was horrible, then no one would cared or made a big deal. And just like the 2 movies he was in after TDK, hardly got any hype as his "last" movies. And he was really good in them too. But nothing compared to his unique performance as the Joker.
Heath's Joker was popular because he was great at it, not because he died. If people cant recognize that, then i will just have to agree to disagree...
