Re: The Dark Knight Rises

No it's de-shay de-shay Basara Basara

Not sure if it's in a real or made up language but those are the words as confirmed by Hans Zimmer

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

For me it beginning to become pretty clear it's an actual chant and it means Rise

The one thing I hate about the trailer is when the chant starts up and they make it appear as though the Blackgate prisoners are chanting it. It's hard to describe but they look so goofy and awkward coming out of the blasted wall. I mean what happened there. When I saw them in Pittsburgh and in the spy photos they looked crazy and menacing as hell, toting AKs, looking violent and then this shot of them in the trailer is just absolutely hilarious. Like it's a broadway musical or something and they're coming out onto the stage.

As part of a theme or soundtrack, I like the chant. It was fantastic in the prologue. As an actual chant though, I absolutely dislike the idea. If I see actors, especially bad extras participating in the chant I'll just think of all the people that sat behind their recording computers and how lame the whole thing is. It'll totally take me out of the film if it's over used.

Please only be a cool musical cue for Bane like Why So Serious was for the Joker.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

One of the shots in the trailer contains the Chand Baori stairwell in India.

In that scene, Bruce asks, in reference to the Bane chant I'd imagine, but that may not be the case for all we know, "What does it mean?" The man next to him says "Rise."

Lazarus pit. :D

I am from/in Rajasthan, where Chand Baori is (have seen it too!). Since water is scarce in desert, baoris were constructed; they're like wells. We have few of them in Jaipur too. Wiki: Chand Baori

Some of the shooting also happened in Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur; another city in Rajasthan. Good to know that there is some association of TDKR with India :)

Lot of people from all over the world come to the state. Apart from all the prejudiced notions about India, our desert is Beautiful. Come over sometime freaks, and we'll ensure that you'll have as good time as Katy and Russell :wink1:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I really want to know more about JLG's role in the TDKR..there has to be more than just being a beat cop...Nolan knows his acting potential so I'm sure there is something special in store for him :D

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I hope this movie is far from anything close to Rocky V, I wish Rocky could be distanced from Rocky V :lol

Though there is a Batman-Rocky connection, Burgess Meredith played Penguin in the Adam West series and Mickey in Rocky.

This is unheard of. MaulFan saying there was a bad Rocky movie... Rocky V had such a nice ending. Elton John's music was perfect for it. I remember when I first saw it early 90's I nearly had a tear due to the build up to the music.

Youtube broken on the forum?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Just wish they'd spent more time on her wardrobe. That costume is almost a gaggy-bland as Silverstone's Batgirl outfit was.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I just noticed that all the people are standing around Wayne Manor when Gordon goes up to give his little speech about retiring or whatever and Bruce is up on the balcony, observing it.

Hmm, Wayne is hosting a party of some sort. So the masquerade ball is most likely at the mansion and this is early on in the film.

With no Joker to crash it, intimidate the old men, and eat all the shrimp :( :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I wonder if some of the reason Wayne might get his ass whooped by bane earlier on in the film is because Wayne has put on the suit or 8 years. Maybe he's not up to par anymore?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

silverstone was so hot in her prime...

Meh. She was cute but I wouldn't go further than that. She was a product of a genre specific media hype and even in her huge movie I would have taken Stacey Dash over her every time.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I actually really like the idea of it being an actual chant but depends how it's used - but the trailer pretty much confirms its more than a musical cue

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Bane seems like a fighter with training much like Bruce's but with greater physical strength on top of it, I think it'll be more that Batman hasn't trained for an opponent of Bane's level and the loss will e a bit of a wake up call that if he is to win, he has to work to be more than any adversary could be.
