Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Why Deadshot? That's not historically an important Bat-villain. I know he was in that anime cartoon, but you guys think that's gonna influence Nolan? I suspect some variations of Penguin, Catwoman, and Egghead.

I have no idea who the Black Mask is. Spin-off from "the Mask" comic when he possesses a black guy?

The Penguin got shafted just like the Riddler.

If it is Black Mask like everyone is hoping, I won't like it at all. The mob stuff has been done to death ('89 Batman, Mask of the Phantasm, Begins, The Dark Knight) and I just don't care about Black Mask, at all really. I'm not a comic book enthusiast so most of my knowledge and love of Batman is from the films and the animated series. Black Mask isn't apart of any of those, so I can't appreciate him. It will be meh and the saving grace of the film will have to be Batman for me.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

I agree with getting Ras back! That would be great to have another story with him in it. As for Blackmask and Rourke playing him that would be a definite cool casting. I think black mask is a great character if they do some of the great comic roots of the character. Cause he is a little beyond just a mob boss. He is one evil son of a beeeep! :D

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Arnold returning as Mr. Freeze would be cool.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

It would be ice to see him again. :D

Oh and Difabio, I have to agree that black mask as a villain would not be too amazing to me either and batman would be the saving grace. However, to be fair, I feel this one should focus moreso on Bats story, like begins. As opposed to the villain taking centre stage.

Plus, ANY actor playing ANY villain will be overshadowed by the memory of Heaths performance to many, myself included.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Not really digging the title but I am glad to at least hear some news. Kind bummed Riddler won't be in this as I'd have loved to see what Nolan could have done with the character. Still so many villains to choose from. I think Black Mask could make a good "secondary" villiain kinda like Scarcrow was but make the main villain shouldd be someone who has a bigger presence to him like Ras or Joker.

The vibe I'm getting from the title, and from what Nolan has said in the past, is that the third movie is going to center around Batman becoming what we all know him as, which is the hero of gotham. I love the image of Batman standing over his parents graves for the main poster for this film.

And Bale certainly needs to carry this film... it has to be that way

Of of course.

It needs to, and 99% certain will be, about his redemption.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Nolan said: "We’ll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we’ll be introducing some new ones."

I wonder what he meant by characters that would be returning? He wouldn't need to mention using Wayne/Batman, Alfred, or Gordon ... that's understood. He won't use the Joker. He can't use Rachel. Ras is dead. Scarecrow was barely a footnote in The Dark Knight.

Harvey Dent, maybe? He was clearly intended to be killed off, but was ambiguous enough to at least consider brining back instead of the Joker.

who said Ras is dead??? I never saw him die ???

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Ra's Al Ghul died in the final battle in Batman Begins, did he not? While the train approached oblivion, He closed his eyes, probably accepting death.
With Nolan strictly adhering to realism with Batman movies, what is the explanation if Ra's is still alive? How could have he escaped that moment?

*Note: Didn't use the 'Spoiler' anymore, as I am assuming everybody commenting here already watched Batman Begins.. Unless we have residents of 'under-the-rock' here. :lol

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

"I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you." Kaboom. No appearance in TDK. His death seemed implied to me.

Yeah.... I've seen Batman Begins... once or twice.... or more than 50 times... :slap

If you've read Lazarus Pits you know Ra's was resurrected. Now I know Nolan has placed Batman in a realistic setting, but the death of Ra's is never ACTUALLY SEEN. He could have survived, his death is not like the death of Two-Face... who we saw die... and the script of TDK says.... "Harvey Dent falls to his death"

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Come to think of it.. The scenes visually did not clearly suggest that both Ra's Al Ghul and Two Face are dead! :horror

>> There was no scene wherein Ra's Al Ghul clearly died by being crushed or his body parts being seen in an explosion.. Nolan can get away with an excuse of bringing him back, excuse can be that his League of Shadows (stealthy, fast & agile ninja-like minions) rescued him from the brink of death!!!! :horror

>> Two Face fell off a building, but there was no visual appearance of blood or crushed bones and stuff.. In the funeral of Harvey Dent, there was only his picture, but no presence of his urn or coffin in the scene. Again, Nolan can get away with the excuse that Harvey Dent's funeral or death announcement was fake to preserve Harvey's legacy, and Two Face might be in Arkham all along!!! :horror

If he intentionally made these loop holes, then he is probably considering them for future movies.

Haven't read the comics (at least not many of them) ... and Nolan doesn't seem to pay much attention to them anyway. If he's looking for a character to resurrect as a Joker replacement ... Dent would be a far better choice.
