And thanks for posting the article and pics void. The most interesting part for me was reading about Nolan exploring the apparent contradiction of Batman as a "self-made man" who also has the advantage of inherited wealth. He says that "the question of relevancy is premature", but to me, his Batman films seem to touch topical themes. While Nolan notes that OWS movement didn't even start until months after he got his shooting permits, he does admit that the idea of America's wealth factored into the script. And of course, in TDK, one of the main themes was how far are we willing to allow the good guys to go to stop evil? (Batman vs Joker in the fictional world / US Government vs terrorism in the real world). Years from now, it will be very easy to tell the real world contemporary context that is reflected in these fantasy films. They may or may not become timeless classics (I think they will), but they are very much "period pieces", and not because of the cars or clothing of the characters.
