Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I'VE NEVER SEEN THAT!!! I didn't follow BB at all. I saw a few things here and there and was mostly "meh" until I saw RotS in theaters and saw the full theatrical. It had piqued my interest enough to run out and see it opening day.

This teaser is just epic on all proportions though. Thanks for sharing!

Spider-Man 3 and Terminator Salvation had really good trailers, but they turned out to be ____ or, not what people expected.

I'm embarrassed to say how many times I watched and rewatched the Spidey 3 trailer knowing how lousy the end product was.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I never followed Batman Begins at all either. I only saw that teaser (didn't even know it was for Batman at first, especially after that Scooby Doo Troll Trailer a few years before) and a few TV spots and a magazine article before I saw Batman Begins.

Went in opening day perfectly clean, not expecting much. Came out excited and pleased and couldn't wait for "the next one".

This was before I really signed up or went looking around online. In fact, I don't think I even had a computer until 2006 or 2007.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I remember seeing the Tumbler and thinking it looked like poop. Then I saw the movie and WHOAH!!! Yeah, it helped going in with little or no expectations. I'm gonna see this one with lower expectations just because after TDK, it seems impossible to deliver anything as good or better. Especially with what they've shown us so far.

I'll be there midnight showing. I'm sure it'll be good but the hype some people have for it annoys me. I was hyped for TDK from the beginning BEFORE Ledger was cast or before he died or before the movie was released. Now all those that jumped on the TDK bandwagon after just bother me to the point I try not to follow it. Here it's refreshing because of all the off topic banter. And you have a great take on it praising Nolan for his accomplishments but also pointing out his shortcomings. I can't stand the ones who worship Nolan or the ones that without any real reason attack him.

I do want Bane and Catwoman though. I'd rather have a Miranda Tate before I had John Blake under the condition that

she is Talia al Ghul and not just Miranda Tate

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

There's probably going to be a trailer in May and I guarantee the focus from a promoting stand point is Catwoman from May till July. So I'd say you're in luck. Bet there's a Catwoman character poster too.

Hopefully there's footage of her on the Batpod or doing Catwoman stuff and not Anne Hathaway, er, Selina Kyle dialogue about current world issues. Oh and cats, there better be lots of cats.

Yup, can't wait! :hi5:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I actually doubt catwoman will be the focus of promotion at any stage, but time will tell

Why not? What do you think trailer 2 is going to be about? Orphans, poor people?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

What was the teaser about then?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Bane's voice :lol

No wait, that was the prologue. :slap

The Teaser was about society's hatred of Football stadiums :lecture

I totally get Nolan. :lecture

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

What was the teaser about then?

Teaser was about Bruce
Trailer 1 was about Bruce and establishing the 'threat' of Bane and the state of affairs in Gotham before that threat arrives
Trailer 2 will be about Bruce and Batman I think again, with some money shots of Catwoman and Bane of course, and perhaps a hint of Blakes role

Movie will be about Bruce and Batman

Bane, Catwoman, Miranda, Ras, Blake, Alfred ... All supporting roles to serve the story

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Trailer 1 isn't about Bruce unless you count that bit of Alfred being all like "I failed", I don't even know what the hell it's about. It's a cluster ____. National Anthem kid, oh look Bruce has a cane and Alfredo is disappoint, Selina is unhappy, oh look there's the guy from the prologue, DESHI, DESHI BASARA, BASARA DESHI, DESHI, SEE THIS ____ING MOVIE, MOVIE, OR ELSE, guys jumping down the well, guys going up the well, Heinz ward winning a game at . . . Heinz field, splosions with Gordon taking cover, I forget the rest. Oh, rich people were getting pulled out under furniture too. Then there's Pittsburgh scenes but those don't really count as new or context because we all saw it in August.

The teaser is about Bruce though, which was what I was getting at. Sadly, none of them have been about Batman except the fact that he's gonna "end".

Hopefully trailer 2 is a "safe" trailer, like trailer 1 was for TDK and gives us the stuff we want to see like, Batman, Catwoman and Bane and some feel good quips from Fox about the Batwing. Oh and action other than on the court house steps in the city. Gimme, gimme some Batcave.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yes, I want true trailer music as well. It's okay if they have the chant thing in certain parts or end of the trailer, but overall classic trailer is what I need.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

When Molossus started up in the first TDK trailer with Batman on the Batpod driving up through the tunnels I thought I was Batman.

Well, I would say anything focusing on Wayne is about Batman in the Nolan films. Nolan portrays his Wayne as devoting himself to the Batman duty all day long. He has Fox to run Wayne Enterprises, I don't get an impression that he goes there for anything but to tap into the resources for Batman needs. I know for most people, he's only Batman in the suit, but in Nolan's movies, plain old Christian Bale is still Batman.
