Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Would it really make sense for Bruce who could end up a suspect as Batman in Harvey's murder to keep Batman related stuff in or under his home?

And the Batbunker found under Wayne Enterprises property couldn't be investigated?

That's one of the things I'm looking forward to, Wayne Manor built "just the way it was, brick for brick" and the improved Batcave.

If that's forgotten in what appears to be the last film, I'll be pissed.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Sure it could but there most likely to seach his home before one of probably a dozen or more minor properties where alot of people are more likely to see him in public.

I hope its not the case and we see a very upgraded batcave tho.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

You've got a good point with Wayne too. That could work in the next film. Think about it, he's tied to Harvey Dent and Rachel.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Who thinks Gordon is going to find out who Batman is (or has a good guess)? :p

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I just want to see catwomen and i guess somone else beside's black mask or mad hatter. I also hope we atleast see a ____ grayson cameo. He doesnt have to be robin but i just wanna see what they would do with him.

Re: Batman/Dark Knight 3rd Film

Batman killing someone is just about the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Losing control??? Batman???

picture.php

Hey, ____ happens.

Batman fighting aliens is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Batman "dying", respawning and going through different lives is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I could go on and on but worse things have happened.

The reason the character lasts so long is because there are different stories/interpretations/retellings.

What if Batman never changed? Well, he'd be cultish Batman that kills, or a man that lures in young "wards", or a smiling fruit cake that is basically a deputy of the city, or a space traveling Batman, or a demon, blood sucking Batman, or, or, or.

So dumb that I refuse to argue it.

I'm a bit behind in this thread, but for now I'll just say Devil: :goodpost:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Okay, I'm caught up now. Didn't read every word, but skimmed and scanned.

Question: Do we know for a fact that Noland wont recast the Joker?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

dark knight rises??? sounds like a porn parody, no?

something is very wrong when the guy who did memento, insomnia, begins and dark knight has to follow the titles of some crappy films like, rise of cobra, rise of lycans, rise of silver surfer.

how about these:
- gotham knight (implying the bat has been embraced by the people of gotham)
- shadow of the bat (implying the bat's legacy in gotham)
- batman triumphant (a nod to miller's TDKR and bookends the first film, batman begins, perfectly)

all 3 titles echo the theme of this third act of the trilogy while still sounding different enough to stand on its own. 'dark knight rises' sound as original as 'batman returns'. it sounds like a generic sequel a fanboy could think up in 2 seconds. surely a nolan film can come up with a stronger title. :cuckoo:

there will be a joker. you can almost bank on it. a force like that you cant just ignore it entirely, even when he's sitting in a padded cell. i can definitely see the joker's role akin to hannibal lecter in red dragon. if nolan bothered to tie up loose end with scarecrow in dark knight, i think chances are we'll see a scene or two with the joker.

and these should happen in film 3:
- gordon knows batman's identity(it will take their relationship to another level)
- that auditor who's about to reveal batman's identity on national tv, it's too big a loose end not to be addressed. the mobs and cops are going to go after that guy now that the bat is a fugitive.
- there'll be a new tough cop whose task force is assigned with the sole mission to capture batman(a nod to miller's TDKR)
- catwoman will be in 3. count on it.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Man you guys are a bunch of cry babies when it comes to Batman and death. There are plenty of great interpretations that have Batman NOT killing (BTAS, Begins, TDK) but "oh noes, one that doesn't, must be CRAP". Saying that "'89 BATMAN SUCKS CUZ HE KILLZ JERKER THUGZ" is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Plus he didn't kill the Joker outright, he's the cause of it but he was stopping the Joker from getting away in the helicopter. The Joker could have fell back onto the balcony or his mindless goons could have brought the helicopter down. ____ is his fault (Joker's).

Now Returns Batman is baaaad, I can see that argument. Catching thugs on fire, strapping a bomb to a guy's chest AND grinning (yeah, it's badass but it's wrong). But '89 Batman? Christ. Apply the same "deeper meaning, strong psychological story" BS that you do to Nolan's films and you'll appreciate Batman 1989 more. I love Batman, Begins and The Dark Knight, ____ and Returns too (Penguin might not be "COMIC ACCURATES" but he's still a fantastic and sad character) but to bash '89 because he killed a few thugs (most of which were indirect deaths) is crazy. The man just found out that the ring leader in all this is some psychopath that MURDERED his parents.

Hmm, didn't Bale Batman try and kill the murderer of his parents? Ah, but that's okay.

I'm disappointed in you Maglor, calling my posts dumb or agreeing with as much. :(

I love Begins and TDK, maybe more than '89 (it's usually about the same) but you guys have no respect for the first serious Batman that started it all. Black suit, serious dark Batman, not a one dimensional character, direct inspiration for BTAS. Hell I doubt we would have had Begins and TDK without it.

But nah, "Stupid 80s movie, Batman kills, etc." I'm sure if it was released today, in modern film (modern film techniques and technology) we'd all be eating it up. I'm beginning to wonder if people are just attracted to the "latest and newest" and don't give a damn about good ____. Everything gets replaced it seems. Best example is the new Spider-Man reboot, seems like everyone is deeming the first two Raimi films as crap which is just too bad.

Then there's that whole "Burtonites"/"Nolanites" bull ____. ____ both of those groups and the directors, BATMAN is all that matters and '89, Begins and TDK are the ____.

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="https://www.youtube.com/v/fIpmfuhhGBI?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="https://www.youtube.com/v/fIpmfuhhGBI?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

(some of these are huge stretches that I disagree with but most of it is spot on. Grapple wrapping around the Joker's leg in both films, Batwing vs Joker/Batpod vs Joker, pen/pencil, mob meeting, "You're crazy" etc. etc.)

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

He also sucks because he has a massively receding hairline and was Mr. Mom.

Nicholson as Joker? Meh. Nicholson as Nicholson with white makeup, an overwrought smile and ghey hats.

Plus, Batman kills. Learn the character for jibbus' bloody sake.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

That's a shallow view of things. Keaton does a great job in the first one. Best scene might have been where he's sitting in front of the computer with the Joker/Jack Napier staring at him from all those monitors and Wayne thinking back to the day his parents were murdered. How subtle and painful it is. The music cue when he opens up the police report/file anger, sadness and frustration all rolled into one. And his Batman, killing aside is SO ____ing Batman.

But nope, BALDING (hey, Ledger and Jack was balding and had noticable receding hairlines) and SHORT, RESTRICTIVE SUIT that's all we can see.

I know the character, almost all the variations and interpretations. Most have a Batman that doesn't take lives, period while others have a Batman that is fed up and has had about as much as he can take.

I don't mind either.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

These Batman stories must not count,

https://www.comicsalliance.com/2010/03/22/batman-kills-murderer/

Probably rectoned, earth 70, alien, alternate reality BS or whatever those lame comic terms are. Another reason why the comic books should only be appreciated for inspiration and why animated shows and motion picture films are clearly better.

And I still don't see why you would hate on something like Keaton's hair. Don't you have a receding hair line, most men do? I'm also positive you have a perm too, unless that's how it is naturally. Live a little, a killing Batman can be as kosher as a non murdering one.

Batman did start off, after all as a dark pulp vigilante anti-hero. Or maybe first appearances don't count either. ____ the roots right?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I'm not too fussy about Batman I suppose. I like Burtons films just as I like Nolans more realistic films. However as regards Schumachers films I side with the majority - total _____e.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Batman is a COMIC BOOK character. I'm not a fan of directors translating the source material into a real world environment.
For me Gotham is in its own reality stuck in that 30's & 40's era inspired design aesthetic but with Batman loaded with hi end tech. That's what '89 Batman had going for it - Its own identity capturing the essence of the character nicely. I hope when Nolan has finished with his story, we'll have another reboot a few years down the line...

i honestly think we should all thank that last schumacher's bat abomination called batman & robin. it took the bat franchise into such extreme suckage territory, the pendulum is bound to swing back to opposite side with fervor.

much more so than the burton films, the schumacher films are directly responsible for us getting these cool nolan's bat films.
