Re: The Dark Knight Rises

It's a pointless comparison. Batman was in an impossible situation. Saving the life of an innocent led to the incidental death of a murdering lunatic. Dent committed "suicide by cop." There was no intent on Batman's part other than saving Gordon's son.
Also, if going by the internal logic of the movie, Dent didn't need to die. Batman and one passenger survived a fall from the top of building using only a flapping cape and rubber suit. Harvey didn't fall much farther than Batman dropped that mobster from.

Precisely. Anyone that thinks otherwise is an 89' Batman fanboy.

Oh come on, did you hear Batman. He growls when he tackles him over the edge. Dent doesn't even yell going down, maybe Batman twisted his neck before his fall (exaggerating, I doubt he did), we don't know.

The fact of the matter is, impossible situation or not Batman killed him, plain and simple. His one rule is that he doesn't take a life, well he did just that. Or are there clauses to that one rule that aren't mentioned by Batman or the Joker?

It was either that or take a chance and see if the coin would come up heads (which it does in the end lol). It was a necessary evil, I agree but he killed him regardless.

I'm not saying it's even bad, but Batman does kill him.

Not me. Well, I'm a fan but I'm in no way shape or form saying that I prefer '89 to TDK (love em both). I'm just saying is all.

Except that the mobster broke his fall by landing on his feet and Harvey would've died if he landed on his back/head indicating a spinal injury.

Even more to the point. How did Batman ensure that the mobster landed on his feet and didn't start flailing around or kick his feet?

It's movie logic. You can interpret however you like but to me it's clear that Harvey was nothing more than collateral damage.

But that's what fills message boards, right? :lol
Beats complaining about sock colors.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

He didn't.

Yeah I said I exaggerated a bit and the term was harsh. He killed him though.

K-I-L-L-E-D

How do you feel about him killing Dent?

Or do you even LIKE Batman films?

The point trying to be made (and failing miserably) is that Nolans Batman is a killer in the same way Burtons Batman was. Not true. The point you're making is that either way you look at it he "killed" Dent. Regardless if he technically did there is no point to this. If Dent was hammered one night, staggered onto the street dizzy and was hit by the tumbler accidentally, Batman would be a "killer"?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

He also crushes civilians' cars and blows up a parking garage to intimidate drug dealers. Excessive! :lol

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

What if people are in those cars? How about the Garbage man thug? Surely he's dead (Batman rams the Batmobile right into it which destroys the entire front of the vehicle when it smashes into the top of the tunnels ceiling).
