Re: The Dark Knight Rises

I like the parallel of the bridges being blown up in TDKR and raised in Begins as part of the big villain plot.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Man, there could be an entire thread on parallels in Nolan's Batman films :lol

What's nice is, they flow, they're not like George Lucas Star Wars paralells that often feel forced. I hate when anyone forces connections between movies. If you can't do it without it making sense in the single movie by itself, then you shouldn't do it because it serves no purpose to that unique story.

Comparison of the 'Bat' shot from Trailers 2 and 3.

Looks like catwoman is pushing the wrong buttons.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

OK this is seriously cool

So after watching the trailer for the 100th time, I realized why those eerie piano notes the score opens with sounded so familiar..
The first 2 piano notes of the trailer score, are the exact same notes that open the secret elevator the batcave in Begins (when Wayne Manor is burning and Alfred carries Bruce to the elevator)
I knew I had heard those notes in the films before... and was just able to confirm it!!

Zimmer you GENIUS

At 0:47 in this Begins Clip

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The interval between the notes is the same, the notes themselves sound slightly different. But as a musician, definitely sounds to me that the trailer score motif was inspired by those notes.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The piano sounds to me like the typical "sad" piano music from the first 2 movies, but really broken down to an even sadder sounding arrangement.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

The thing that intrigues me most and always has done is that well. Where is it, whos zipping down it, whos climbing up it, what's down there, how does the water taste etc. :panic:

We know who's climbing up it from the new trailer (Bruce)

And we know what's down there from trailer 2 (Prison)

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Looks to me that the guy zipping down it is kind of falling, even though the rope is very clearly attached. Maybe Bruce slipped.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

This opens the day after our baby is due...wonder how the frack we'll get to see this opening weekend. :slap

Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Did I miss something, I haven't followed this movie lately, but I saw the newest trailer, it's great, but is it just Bane now, or is Blake the scarecrow, and if so, Why doesn't he have a costume.

How much did you have to drink today?

You could do what I do. If I can't go, I pay for someone to go who normally wouldn't or for someone to go a second time so the film gets my money opening weekend. I'll be doing this with Avengers since I won't be able to take the family (I have a 2-year-old who loves the characters but might talk) until it's been out more than a week so I'm not interrupting the first-time viewers/diehards.
