Joss: “The Dark Knight,” for me, has the same problem that every other “Batman” movie has. It’s not about Batman. I think Heath Ledger is just phenomenal and the character of the Joker is beautifully written. He has a particular philosophy that he carries throughout the movie. He has one of the best bad guy schemes. Bad guy schemes are actually very hard to come up with. I love his movie, but I always feel like Batman gets short shrift. In “Batman Begins,” the pathological, unbalanced, needy, scary person in the movie is Batman. That’s what every “Batman” movie should be.

Coming from the guy who choose the worst bad guy ever, it made me laugh!

This thread is great about how cheesy those characters are, like the transit hub guy, the people on the ferries, and I'll add the cops from Begins : "At least tell me what it looks like."

I wonder what Nolan thinks of Avengers

It's like asking what he thinks of Independance Day or The Day After Tommorow. It's a movie about aliens attacking to showcase modern cgi and an ensemble cast. The whole movie is Joss Whedon waving and showing us how much money hollywood is willing to waste.

Actually they are already working on a new theme park ride called "Mr Bane's Wild Cry"

Apparently you sit in a booth with an emo kid dressed like the Joker who sings Pagliacci while clips of Nolan's Batman play and everyone crys togeather.

I did enjoy Avengers - but yeah, much in the same way I enjoyed Independence Day, that's a good comparison.

He's a master of polishing the turd.

In fact the prologue airplane scene is inspired by a similar scene in a Bond film, except the fact that it looked utterly ridiculous in the Bond film.
