I do hope SS posts the prod pics of Faramir tonight. I'm still curious what the standard head paint looks like.

As bad as my Faramir close-up picture looks -- the one Chris said is not indicative of the line -- it really doesn't seem too far off from all the others posted here.

Well, based on King's images compared to yours and my pre-repaint head, my guess is Chris was referring to the poor application of the paints (off eyebrows, googley eyes, spotty beard) and that the actual paints used would be the same, like King's shows, same tones and everything, but a very clean and properly done job of painting it on.

Probably. I know mine is a pretty sad example right now--but at least he can see left and right at the same time! (wait, that's a bad thing . . . )

:lol :lol :lol :lol

I agree. I think Chase got the "Representative" paint job. Looks about as good as the rest of the LOTR painties.

Getting a good paint job in the eyes can make a big difference in the way a figure looks displayed... so in that sense King really scored on that level. :D

However the beard is... in King's words... well, it needs LOTS of work. Though my Faramir's eyes aren't as clear and well defined as King's, my Faramir's beard is far better painted. Go figure.

I've been debating back and forth about exchanging my Faramir. The clock is ticking. I've seen so much variation in this thread that I seriously leaning to NOT sending him back. There is no guarantee that the next Faramir I would get will be any better. And still one of the greater concerns of the figure have been present in ALL of the them... namely poor choice of hair color. I'd rather apply the cost I'd spent in shipping to a custom job.

Like with Anakin before him, I can't wait to see what you custom artists do with Faramir. :monkey5 :monkey5 :monkey5

He looks great as long as you got mood lighting. :lol

Thats kinda ****ed up that SS would take such wide shots of the production pix.

WTF is up with that!?!?!?!?

Anyway, a day later with my Faramir and I am pretty happy with him. Sitting on the shelf next to the other LOTR figures he looks great. Upon close inspection you can see the obvious problems with the beard, but overall this is a great figure.

Yeah that looks like a totally different figure compared to what I got. Too bad they had to use such particular lighting; still, their Faramir looks like a fine Rembrant painting compared to mine, which looks more like a Picasso right now--don't get me wrong, I love Picasso, but I don't like owning a cubist Faramir. :rotfl

I had imagined yours and others as looking more like a Jackson Pollock.:D

Cool, I just realized Faramirs gloved hands look great on Connor!!!!

Finally my Connor Macleod has gloved hands!
