You got more green than that guy got on his face. You took on a space snake ship, slammed Loki like a tenderized octopus and your afraid of that guy... For shame. Are you Godzilla or a Godzuki?

All this talk of LOTR makes me want to sit down and watch all 3 EE back to back.

I know, I'm going to watch them backwards.

Btw, its official, Hobbit is not the SW PT.

I'm re-reading Fellowship right now, and I need to get the Blu-Ray set of the EE.

As for Boromir's death. Viggo's reaction and final interaction knocks it out of the park.

And if I can remember right, Viggo's reaction wasn't scripted at least not the forehead kiss.

Josh needs this for his front yard. I know I would love it. Someone just posted it on my one Facebook page.

Saturday morning taking my second swipe at this. :yess:

Just can't believe theres nothing else coming on that looks that interesting for competition.

Then I sincerely apologize for my response.
But I put on my big boy pants when I wade into these movie/tv threads, fully aware of potential spoilers and it doesn't effect my enjoyment of the story one way or the other.
So thanks for the warning in hindsight.

No hard feelings! this stuff happens, getting thoughts and feelings across with text through the internet doesn't always work as well, hehe. :1-1:

Speaking of the Amon Hen part in Fellowship, my favorite scene in any movie, ever, comes right after it.

After everything's gone to ****, the fellowship broken, Boromir dead, Gandalf dead, and Merry and Pippin taken by the Uruks. Aragorn still finds the strength to go on, and recuperate. "We will not abandon Merry and Pippin to torment and death." *fellowship theme kicks in* then when Viggo says "Let us hunt some orc!" I ALWAYS tjirp out a quick "YEAH!" I ****ing love that line. Then all three of them run off, off to danger, and adventure! The friendship Gimli, Aragorn, and Legolas develop together, and the chemistry between the actors is what made me fall in love with PJ's LOTR. It's probably my favorite part of the trilogy. Let's hunt some orc!

I called around and found out that none of the theaters in my area were going to continue HFR past Christmas Eve so I went and saw it that way last night.

I love this movie!!!!!

I said before it has a real theme of "sickness" throughout the film. I will expand that to "sickness and frustration." Gandalf's frustration that he can't stay with the group, Azog's frustration that he can't pursue the group, Legolas' and Tauriel's romantic frustration, Thranduil's frustration at Thorin's perceived greed, the door not appearing, Kili not getting to go see the halls, Bard being stuck in jail, Legolas' failure to kill Bolg, the dwarves being unable to kill Smaug despite their best efforts, failure to even contain Smaug, and then the ultimate frustration, "What have we done," BOOM. Credits. :gah:

I can see how the movie could rub people the wrong way. That it was one giant unfulfilling stalemate. Not one single named character was killed on either side. Just nameless orcs and some nameless elves guarding the river.

But I *wanted* things to go so much better for so many of the characters. And that's when I know I'm invested. That's when I know when I am watching a really good, or great film (I think DOS is great.) It was a bit like ESB for me.

I love the score, I love the pace, I love Azog's badassery, I love Beorn, the spiders, elves kicking ***, Thranduil getting in Thorin's face, the barrel escape, Bard, Lake Town, and Smaug, Smaug, Smaug.

He was so fearsome in 48fps! Much of the film did look like I was standing on set or location like with AUJ (and therefore was more "real" but less "artistic") but damn if it didn't look like there was also a real dragon on set! I wanted to wince as his teeth filled screen.

Nothing will beat Boromir's death and that Amon Hen scene.

:lecture :goodpost: :exactly:

Boromir was a hero only by defending the hobbits. Before that?...

:pfft:

...By the blood of our people are your lands kept safe!...

...This city was once the jewel of our kingdom. A place of light and beauty and music. And so it shall be once more! Let the armies of Mordor know this: Never again will the land of my people fall into enemy hands! This city of Osgiliath has been reclaimed. For Gondor!

Only one of the AMC theaters around me will have it playing in the HFR tomorrow. It was alright in the HFR but seeing both back to back was probably a little too much HFR for one day. I agree with you that the movie is awesome though. I will work in another viewing next week.

The Shot of them running off into the Forrest gave me goosebumps when I saw it in the theatre. The entire Amon-Hen part is my favorite part of any of the films.

I was very lucky to not know anything about the story details or anything else in the film before going to see it. FOTR is still one of the best movie going experiences I've ever had.

The Theatre that was showing HFR near me stopped showing it after 5 days.
