I just posted this in the Gremlins tread, but figured I'd do the same here since I was talking about them.

The Gremlins got delivered today instead of Monday! Took two quick pics of them right out of the box (they were shipped together in plastic bags and tossed in a shipping box--no individual boxes).

My first impression is there's more positives than negatives as long as you're not expecting a fully poseable Gremlin figure. They're the right size and look great. They feel like they're made of a thick rubber but mostly hollow so you can put your hand in to work the mouth--which is hilarious. You can move the limbs to a decent degree, but they won't stay since there's no wiring or skeleton. They're definitely puppets and not figures. Even without any internal support, they're dense enough to stand if you lean them against the wall.

I do have a couple concerns. Stripe's hair is thin and a mess. I think the shape is fixable with some hairspray, but it's definitely not as full as I was expecting. Also, I'm worried about putting the arms through too much strain because I think the rubber will crack. This is kind of a bummer because I wanted to hang one of them from Christmas lights, but now I'm afraid it won't last long in one piece with the arms in that position.

Overall, I actually really like them. I'll let them settle in and see what I think after messing with them a bit. There may be nicer alternatives for a life-size Gremlin out there, but they'll set you back a lot more than $200.

:lol I'm more disappointed with Stripe's hair than anything else. I'm definitely going to mess around with it and try to get it where it should be. If nothing works, then I'll replace it with something that does.

Do you think these will have similar issues as hot toys rubber. Deterioration that is.

Hard to say Lots depends on the environment you keep your stuff in.

But also there is a lot of inconsistencies with these things. My ed209 is fine after a couple years, but others are cracking... all in the same type environments... so tricky to guess what the future holds for this crap.

I honestly don't know about the odds for deterioration. My ED209 dome still hasn't cracked though I know that's a huge problem. Actually, none of my rubber HT have had any problems so I guess it depends on environment (like Pro Design said) and maybe a bit of luck. I will say that I know the rubber on these Gremlins will end up tearing if you put a lot of strain on it. You can just tell when moving their arms that the rubber is too thick for a certain amount of pressure.

Aquanet......Or any other high volume hair spray may help!

MOTHER. ****ER. I just found out that Terence Stamp was at the London Film and Comic Con at the end of July. I could have taken a trip to London and met him instead of going to SDCC.

****ING URSA WAS THERE TOO  :gah:

God dammit I live in the UK too. How the hell did I not know about this?

He never goes to conventions so I can't believe there wasn't more news about him being there. I only know because someone on my FB feed posted the picture of him and Douglas. I'm going to have to check on conventions in London now if he's starting to make appearances. I would have 100% rather spent my money going to London just to meet him than take the damn trip to SDCC. I'm going to be pissed about this for awhile. :lol
